The only people that don’t think Jayden Daniels is a good QB are LSU fans.

This is actually far from true. Unless sports talking heads are filled with LSU fans.

ok chief, just curious which games would those be? Arkansas who we beat? Or Bama

We lost 4 games... the vast majority of the year we were ranked in 100s in gaining passing yards. That's not winning a national title.

And again... no run 1st qb is winning a title of note. It hasn't happened since tebow.

I watched us play Tennessee and A&M from the stands,

113 of our 189 passing yards against a&m came on the last 2 drives that started with 6 minutes left in the game. You don't know what you're watching if you think our passing attack wasn't a major issue in us losing. Hell for most of the 2nd half our offense had given up as many points as they scored.

We beat one team that scored over 30 points against us in regulation, a sub .500 team with a terrible defense. Every other team who scored over 30 against us blew us out. We can’t win shootouts because the QB can’t keep up because he’s not good enough throwing the ball.

I dont understand how people can actually say he is consistently good at passing. There were multiple games where we looked like trash passing mpst of the game then on the last 3 or 3 drives we would throw and make.our passing stats look better than what they were for the vast majority of the game.

Obviously you’ve seized on a narrative so there’s no point in trying to explain to that correlation doesn’t equal causation but you wouldn’t understand that any way

The first game we lost on a blocked PAT, also had multiple ST gaffs
The other 3 we gave up 40, 30 and 50 points. Terrible the way “run first QBs” lead to total defensive collapse

Our best 3 games of the season was the streak from Florida to Bama. JD averaged 18 rushing attempts per game and we were run heavy in run/pass ratio during that stretch. That’s the formula for a QB like him but we got away from it and when we did we got crushed or looked bad offensively.

Yeah and 87 of the 200 passing yards came on the last 2 drives.
Are you telling me that didnt play a part in our inability to score until the end of the game?

Yeah that's what happens when you offense can't keep up and keeps sending the defense our there.

Against A&M we had 76 yards passing for 3 and a half quarters but let me guess... thats not on the qb?

Yep you’re right, I don’t know what I’m watching, please tell me how the passing game allowed Devon Achane to run for 215 yards? Then explain why Kentucky only scored 6 on UGA ls brilliant 115 yard passing attack?

Something you clearly don’t understand is that 2 things can be true at once, we had a bad passing game vs A&M and the defense got gashed. We didn’t have championship defense this year, which is unsurprising since we were 6-7 last year

Another concept people like you don’t get is just because Daniels was not elite doesn’t mean the other options we had can’t be worse.

When we started the Florida game... he looked like a completely different qb. He was throwing guys open... throwing before guys were out of their break. He was having success throwing early which hadn't been the case against fbs teams.
His Florida, Ole Miss, and bama stretch was amazing. That team could win sec titles. But this throwing for 70 yards for almost the entire game and asking JD to throw 40 times isn't gonna work for title run. I'm with u on the need to have designed runs. Stop calling passing plays just for him to tuck and run for 3 yards.

I literally haven't touted the defense once... you seem to not understand that daniels' play led to some of those numbers. An opposing defense can't score if your offense is on the field.

We didn't have a championship qb either but you won't admit that.

Which is why I haven't called for him to be benched. He still gives us the best chance to win but I won't act like his 2022 play was good enough to win a national title like you are.

One, his grade is deserved and two, PFF is a complete joke when it comes to position grading.

Do you have your own position grading service?

If the answer is yes, can you please link it?

Once he settled in (Florida), he really had just 1 bad game against A&M, then had to play on a bum ankle against Georgia in the first half.

What you meant to say was after he settled in after Florida, he had one good game the rest of the season

You had the 2022 LSU team competing for a National Title?

I think the over/under on win total started at 6.5 and was quickly bid up to 7.

LSU started the year with 71 initial qualifiers, if you want to count Josh Williams in that since he got a scholarship early on in his tenure, then I can concede 72. That was 13 less than Bama, UGA, A&M who all started the year at 85.

You realize Jayden is going to be the qb next year too right?

Cool...
Still gonna need better qb passing stats than Jordan Jefferson had in 2009 if we wanna win a conf or national title.

I swear some of you act like Jayden played perfect this past season and we were a great passing team all year.
