Fine by me. Wish him the best of luck. He gave us all he had while here. No sense in him risking an injury in a meaningless bowl. Also let’s Nuss be The Man for a game to get used to it.

Hate our defense sucked donkey balls. Things could have been really special this year.

I don't hold it against Jayden, it's the smart thing for him to do and I had a lot of fun watching him this year. So when I ask this question I don't mean it in an angry way, I'm just genuinely curious. How does Saban get Bryce Young and Will Anderson to play in their non-playoff bowl against Kansas St last year after they already had top 5 pick grades?

Big difference between the sugar bowl even as a non playoff game vs the quest bowl

Still a prime time game in a fun city that will be a spotlight game for them. Lot easier of a pitch than a NYD 11am kick off against a 6 loss team in Tampa bay

But I get it. Millions on the line if he were to get hurt in a game that means absolutely nothing.

Anyone who doesn't get it is looking at things from a completely selfish point of view.

It obviously hurts LSU's chances for short term success. You don't take away the best player in the college football, particularly one who had to be elite just to give LSU a chance with its terrible defense, and not expect a significant drop-off. But while not good in the short term, it could be better for the long term goals for success.

For the first time in his career Nussmeier is going to take all first team reps. The coaches are going to prepare a gameplan fully tailored to his skillset. He's going to get his first starting experience...against a solid team. The coaches are going to get a preview of his strengths/weaknesses in a game setting which will allow them to get a jump on preparing for next season. He's going to get a chance to see areas where he may be able to improve. I'd MUCH rather he and the coaches to start to figure out the good and bad in a game where the outcome is largely inconsequential than in game 1 next year vs. USC.

While there will be some personnel changes (and hopefully one key coaching change), you can kid of look at the bowl game as a "preseason" game for the 2024 year.

Saban convincing Bryce and Anderson
they were playing an 11-2 K state treat who just won the B12 in a NY6 bowl. We are playing 7-5 Wisconsin with half their players in the portal and sitting out. Lastly, Jayden mentions in his video he’s more confident than ever at the state of the QB position he’s leaving at LSU. He’s passing the torch to Nuss and while it’s just one game, it’s a confidence boost to roll over into next year

Thanks for everything JD. Class act, and glad to say I got to watch him in person as I didn’t get to with Burrow. Easily the best electric player I’ve ever watched personally, with second being Mathieu

I understand why he made the decision he made but I have to say I'm a little disappointed we won't get to see him play in a Tiger uniform one more time.

I was hoping he'd start the game, see to it that Nabers got his record and then take a curtain call for the fans to cheer for him one more time as he came out of the game, even if it meant his day would have been over in the first quarter.

Oh, well...he was fun to watch play.

This is best for both sides, give Nuss a warm up game for next year.

Just being able to hand him the reigns as QB1 at this point is beneficial. But you had to let Jayden make that call

It’s an exaggeration dipshit. Sorry, I forget it’s TD and there’s not always the most intelligent and literate readers on this board. They have 7 starters in the portal and more players are expected to enter. That better for you?

Lol at the morons who thought he was going to play.
nobody with an ounce of intelligence thought Jayden was going to play in the bowl game.

He shouldn't play and he made the correct decision - there's zero upside and only a risk of injury, when he's about to sign a massive contract in a few months.

He’s so close to 5000 total yards. I thought maybe he would play a couple drives or a quarter before a send off.

Good for him though. He’s got nothing left to prove.

We need a 24 team playoff so that way players will stay and keep playing. Bowls are a thing of the past. Old heads need to get over the “tradition” of them. It’s not 1982 anymore boomer
