Still misses way to many throws.

I wouldn’t draft him high. He’s not going to run his way to NFL glory, and his passing is not up to league standards by a long shot.

If Daniels wants to stick in the pros he has a ton of work to do on his passing. But he has certainly improved on making reads and finding the right guys.

Two glaring examples that have to be fixed to have even a slight chance at the NFL. When we were inside the Bama 10, and he had a receiver (TE?) pretend to block then release to the back of the end zone, he did not throw a competitive pass. The Bama guy had it well covered, but they were one on one. In that situation, the QB has to put the ball on the other side of the receiver from the defender. Half the opportunities in the NFL are like that.

The other was the fourth quarter slant to Boutte that he threw behind him. Can’t do that.

Daniels needs another year of college, or he’ll wash out of the NFL, imo. I definitely don’t think he’d go in the first three rounds this year - not based on what he’s done so far.

Call me a Homer but I think he brings more tools than Hooker and he has the height advantage over Young. I compare Young to Kyler Murray but Murray is built like a truck and Bryce seems like he may be too small and fragile. I think Young could hurt badly in a NFL season.

All of their stats are similar to an extent but Jayden is over 6’3”. Jayden reminds me of a less muscular Jalen Hurts, but faster and more elusive. Jalen isn’t as accurate in my opinion and I think Jayden is faster. If Jayden comes back I think you’re looking at a preseason top 5 and on the Heisman boards from the start. After Jayden started to get the offense and trust his wrs it’s almost like I feel he can lead a scoring drive every time. Next year the oline will be one of the best in the country, an all American level tight end, great receivers (Brian Thomas, Nabors, Bech, and Chris Hilton). I’m not sure about the rbs next year but you would think Kelly has a freshman or two that will be as good or equal to this year. Next years offense should be really good, if Daniels comes back.
Defensively I’m not sure who all will be there but bud Maason Smith should be preseason AA. Kelly may have him a really good squad next year. Even if Daniels leaves we’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews of Walker being a complete stud. Great times ahead for the program.

He’s an elite playmaker with his legs, but his passing is nowhere near good enough to be a high draft pick. 3rd or 4th round at best.

Josh Allen has an absolute cannon for an arm, Daniels does not.

And he completed 56% of his passes with that arm.

Jalen Hurts couldn’t pass a lick-2nd round. Lamar Jackson and Kenny Pickett both comparable to Daniel’s-1st round

You people don’t watch enough college football.

As stated in OP, I think he is a better passer these past three games than Hurts or Jackson WERE their last year of college.

Maybe better at passes Daniels attempts, but Daniels arm strength is very limiting at the NFL level. He has to continue to add something with strength, throwing motion, and/or footwork to make throws in tighter windows and to more parts of the field including when scrambling. Hurt’s arm isn’t that strong but still noticeably stronger than Daniels.

Getter better and quicker with reads and getting rid of ball even quicker with release along with continuing to improve accuracy to all parts of the field would also help.

He is no where close to being ready for pros. Passing needs a great deal of work.

He has to demonstrate a better deep ball to get drafted in the top 3 rounds. You can’t build a nfl team around what he has right now

NIL has changed things. Not saying it’s a sure thing one way or another, but it will keep college stars that need to develop from turning pro because they want at least some money.

Why do you say that?

Let’s say we win out regular season, have decent showing against Dawgs but lose then win in a NY Day bowl game. Let’s also say he plays all those games at about the same level as this weekend. Do you think he would be rated any higher than 3rd or 4th round? I don’t.

Now if he does all that but comes back next year he is likely a front runner for heisman trophy. With another year under Kelly maybe we make it to the playoffs. If he were to win or be a heisman finalist and play his team into the playoffs, win or lose, he likely gets himself into the 1- 2nd round conversation.

Nothing against JD but Lamar was throwing bombs to receivers running full speed, hitting them directly in the numbers only to have them drop it half the time. I thought he was better than Deshaun but he was getting all the love from the media (at the time ha).

Y’all need to understand that a lot of the time when that happens, he’s expecting the receiver to sit in the open area instead of continuing his route.

Hint . Rewind and see if it’s zone or man coverage. If it’s zone then it’s a miscommunication. If it’s man coverage and he throws behind the receiver then it’s on the qb
