You mean the beat guys that all claimed Bianco would be announced soon? This search made it fairly obvious most of them are as clueless as the people speculating on the boards

Lester's list makes it seem like Godwin and Johnson were back up plans, though.

They very much were though. I mean that’s the one thing that we actually know. KOS was 1st pick. Casey came to BR. PM outright said he tried to sell OConnor the job. Will anyone disagree that Vitello was also courted?

I mean They interviewed Godwin & never offered him the job. Went like a week before they even hired someone afterward.

I just think Woodward has enough pull or goodwill so between that and former player support he’d win a battle with admins not on board

The way Brody worded that makes it seem like it had to do with these mysterious off field issues Godwin supposedly has but no one has said anything specific on

then you also believe vitello was offered over 2 mil per year

Which doesn't make sense. Why would you offer Vitello 2M and then only give 1.4M to a guy that's more accomplished?

Paul was pandering to a Virginia based podcast. The man didn’t have the autonomy to name his successor, come the frick on. There’s nothing that points to us going after him

I don't think Vitello was ever seriously considered at all unfortunately.

OConnors name was floated before that interview even happened J. PM confirmed they talked about it. Does not mean he was naming his successor at all. But if LSU had interest why not have Paul talk to him to gauge interest

Gauging interest isnt an offer though. Woodward seemed to want to gather a list of candidates early on, then interview them all and make a decision. Sounds like oconnor never made it past PM gauging interest

Yeah I don’t believe Vitello was seriously considered.

Should he have been? Probably but the anti Vitello sentiment seemed really strong over there

“Brought in” = interviewed

Where it happened is irrelevant
