I know it is early on and that will likely drop some. But he is shooting an incredible percentage so far. Also he is shooting almost six a game, so it’s not like he has only shot a handful and has a high %.

It’s not that he can’t pass, it’s that he is lazy with the ball. Dribbling and passing. Turnovers are one thing but too often he hands the ball over to the other team.

Another interesting thing... Wilkinson is shooting 78 percent from the field. He hasn’t attempted a lot of shots, but still.

"it’s that he is lazy with the ball."

LSU has a couple that throw those lazy arse passes.

He’s on a roll. Don’t ruin it for him.

I’d say give me tremont over smart any day of the week. I’m not shitting on Smart. He is just aggravating as hell to watch. Just looks like he moves with no urgency and lazy looking

Is it though? 11 games in, and he plays about 34 minutes per contest. He shot 141 3's in 31 games last season. In 11 games this year, he's taken 61 attempts from beyond the arc, well above the pace he was at last year. I think the sample size is set. It's no exaggeration to say that Smart has developed into a legit sharpshooter.

Edit: His 2 pt. fg percentage has increased dramatically as well, from 41.5% last year, to 51% this season. Let's face it, we are watching Javonte Smart take the next step, and he's getting close to realizing his full potential.

Well they are fairly similar statistically this year. Waters assist:turnover 1.6 smart 1.4 ppg 15.3 waters 15.2 smart rbg 2.8 waters 4 for smart steals 2.9 to 1.3. Smart could be scoring more but he’s deferring to Thomas and watford

Don’t ever praise Javonte on the rant. According these basketball geniuses he’s Chris Bass 2.0.

Good points. This may just be the type of shooter he is now. He always shot with a lot of confidence and could get red hot. But he has really improved greatly, no doubt a testament to hard work and putting time in getting shots up.

Tremont was such a breath of fresh air wades first season that he walks on water on the rant. Smart ironically due to the burden of expectations being a high profile local recruit has gotten no such leeway and the rant refuses to let the first half of last season where he was learning to be a point guard go. You would think the local kid would get the benefit of the doubt but it’s the opposite

Smart has hit some LARGE 3’s this season to start our runs or answer the other team. He, like everyone on the team, has a brain fart from time to time, but when he’s focused he’s a force.

I don’t think smart is very good at basketball. He’s way too sporadic with the ball and makes horrible decisions

He averages over 15 points, 4 assist and 4 rebounds a game, while shooting an incredibly efficient percentage from the field and from 3.
