Jarod Jones is a great power hitter but

he can't pick up the slider or 2-8 type curve and he moves his feet a great deal in the box. Anybody who really knows hitting mechanics got any opinion on whether one is related to the other?

He’s a freshmen and this is common for younger players

He’s a true freshman that has never seen pitches like this before. He will get better. The more he plays the better he will be and he crushes mistakes.

Which is crazy to think about. I couldn't imagine being a high school pitcher last year and having to face that dude.

But for the season Petry at USC is having Jones would be a front-runner for national freshman of the year. I think he’ll be ok

Has Tommy White been any better? Serious question, I don't watch every game but I've seen him completely fooled routinely.

Only Morgan has a lower K rate than he does. He has 16 Ks in 159 plate appearances
