Remember him? He was able to play any position on the baseball field and was one of my favorite players.
Or what about his amazing defensive catch against A&M in the Bottom of the 9th of a 4-4 game with the bases loaded and 2 outs?

Or the throw he made against Vanderbilt in the SEC Championship game with a 4-4 tie in the Bottom of the 7th with bases loaded and 1 out?

If I'm being honest he was kind of a disappointment. With how athletic he was, his career at LSU was pretty meh and so was his career in the minors. Sure he some memorable plays, but he also didn't make them all too often. Wasn't a regular starter until his senior year and then hit .278. I do think he was one of the more naturally gifted athletes we've ever had on the baseball team. He just couldn't ever put it all together. I really thought he'd figure it out once he got to the minors, but here we are only a few years removed and he's our newest GA.

Still amazes me that he caught that ball, the way he launched himself in the air looks borderline fake.

I can't remember who we played, but I remember that it was in Alex Box Stadium and our opponents initials were ASU (I remember the score box on the screen from the many times I watched the catch) and he was in CF and made this diving catch that honestly didn't look like he could make it.

Well, to be fair, a lot of guys realize that they won't make the MLB quicker than others. Blake Dean, for example, was a GA pretty quickly after going into the minors.

Exactly. He jumps UP. Had he simply kept running, he would have been right under the ball.

Blake Dean ended his career, at least according to him, not because he figured out that he had no shot of making it to the majors but because he wasn't having fun and missed the college game. I do agree it was a longshot for him to make it to the majors without really having a position, but seems like he made his choice not for that reason.

If the initials of the team were ASU I bet it was Alcorn State. We usually play a good number of SWAC teams every year.

I feel like people's love for Foster is simply because he was on the football roster.
