Stewart was the #3 ranked player in West Virginia, 6’8” 320# OT who quit within 30 days from arriving on campus.

Offensive line signee Seth Stewart will not be joining the LSU football team, coach Ed Orgeron announced Sunday at a pre-camp news conference.

Stewart, one of 25 members of LSU's seventh-ranked 2017 signing class, enrolled in school with other freshman in June before leaving, the coach said. Coaches failed in attempts to convince Stewart to rejoin the program.

"As far as we know, he's decided not to play football," Orgeron said. "Spent a couple of days here and decided he wanted to move on. Tried to get him back. Coach (Jeff) Grimes tried to get him back."

Hopefully a premonition bc that 2017 class was the catalyst in the 2019 title run aside from Burrow

Good riddance. I didn't think he was worthy of a spot at LSU anyway.

Read that After Stewart left LSU basically never really played football again and is now a sheriff's deputy. I guess you never really know what's in a guys heart. That Louisiana heat in Mid summer is not for the weak minded.

There was discussion on the RB that Shead was a offered as an attempt to improve their position with hi former teammate Walter Nolen. Nolen has since cooled on LSU.

That along with Jake Johnson coming in makes Shead's value little more than depth. We do need depth though.

I’m clueless.

I know we have 81 to have this year due to self imposed sanction.

But has ncaa allowed teams to take 25 recruits, and then take as many transfers as needed to get to 85(well, 81)?

Who is the wide receiver back in the Les Miles days that only lasted a few days because it was too hot? Think he was from California.. left and transferred back to a school out there

ETA: Up here in Nashville the other day a buddy had the nerve to tell me it was humid I said dude I don't even want to hear it.. I walked out MSY the other day when I was back home and my glasses immediately fogged up

Hawkins was part of Saban's last class but dude transferred after one or two games into the season. Doucet and Carter were also part of that class. Didnt Garrett last a year before transferring?

Bigger question is how can the staff not see things like this coming with questionable takes anyways?

One of the last places we could ill afford to lose a guy is TE. Now we have Kole Taylor, a walk on, and probably a high school WR in Jack Bech trying to step into the role since Arik Gilbert went crazy and now Shead didnt last a day of workouts. They probably got Shead just to get in with Walter Nolen and now we aren't even in Nolen's Top 5.

We should have just signed an in-state guy who really wanted to be here at least like Shield Taylor. At least Jake Johnson is coming for 22 but that's still not going to help this season much at the position.

Yea Clifton is the one that always comes to mind in these situations. He was really supposed to be a stud

Off topic. Hosting an Olympic party Friday night (USA! USA! USA!) Wife wants to set up tables and chairs outside with a TV on patio. I asked who in the heck does she think, even if its not raining, is going to go out there and sit around sweating for a couple hours.

Don’t need him. He’s apparently still latched to the teet.
