Do you know if it was the same leg? Seems like it happens a lot that, whether consciously or not, players try to overcompensate and protect their previous injury and end up with an injury on the other side

He and Henderson were both McDonalds all Americans and were supposed to be the next wave of great players for Brown. Probably the best backcourt duo Brown ever had. Jamie Brandon, also a Parade AA was on that 93-94 team.

That season was the beginning of the end for Brown.

Both highly rated out of high school.

Randy and Jalen were not in the same stratosphere as players/recruits... Sorry that Jalen got hurt, but he is not comparable to Livingston, not close in any metric

I also a different topic would be a nice change of pace from recruiting and coaching drama

I think he won a championship in the G-league or one of the lower leagues as a coach so he was probably a valuable locker room guy and extra coach on the floor.

I know. Just both were highly rated and injuries have derailed both. Jalen might be able to come back from it - I don’t know.

Randy was an absolute monster prior to injury. I had some classes with him at LSU. well the 4-5 times he came to class during the semester that is.

Medical science has advanced quite a bit since 1993. A significant knee injury is not the career ender it often times once was.

Reed is not really an "explosive" athlete. He's more of a "below the rim" big. It will obviously take a lot of rehab, but he should be able to play again. I guess the only silver lining, if there is one, is that this injury is to the other leg. That should at least allow him to fully rehab the knee another year

Yeah, but the other leg is an Achilles injury reportedly. I don’t know much about those or their lingering effects, if any

RL was the real deal - what if.... 1991-92 Parade All-American Team was headlined by Randy Livingston and Jason Kidd

In the state title game he fouled out before OT then practically coached Newman from the sidelines to win that game.

Yup. That was a monster High School class! I don’t know if there were any busts from that class from a talent or on the court play standpoint. I don’t know how many you can say that about

The big boy from King High in Chicago was kind of a bust. He went to Wisconsin and played with Michael Finley. Had a solid college career but that’s about it.

I've had both the ACL and the Achiliese and yes one can cause the other from compensation. But he can recover from both especially since he's a below the rim player. I'm 63 and still play ball 2-3 days a week.

And I think you’re one of the real ones when it comes to LSU basketball fans around here
