Why should we be anything else but just another game to them? We haven’t beaten them since Hurts was in diapers.

This is a video of a few different Bama players talking about the game. Jalen Hurts just seems to have no respect for our program. This is the second interview I've seen where a reporter asks about playing LSU and his comments are along the lines of "it's a big game for them, but not for us". Basically insinuating that LSU gets hyped for this game but they really don't care.
Yeah I know, we lost to Troy and we haven't beat them in 6 years but every other player shows LSU respect and mentions how this game is physical and that it's a big game. He's the only one with that arrogant tone of "LSU is to far beneath us to worry about."
I hope Devin White, Arden Key, and Rashard Lawrence break that little prick in half.
That would be awesome to see him get busted in the mouth a time or two really good, then see what his comments are....

This is utter bull shite. This was one of the most epic defensive games ever played, and you Les Miles apologist can't give Orgeron credit to save your bigoted asses. Satan never solved LSU's defense either.
This is going to be a new thing under Orgeron. He gets credit for losing.

If LSU wins this one and the rest, Bama won't be in the SEC 'ship even if they win out. That's why it's a big game for Bama.

“ he gets credit for losing “
I’ll give the team some credit if we make a game out of it both defensively and offensively. We are playing the number one team in the country at their house.
Having said that, we all should be objective enough to note that 6-3 with two pretty bad L’s, and probably unranked or close to it would be seen as a major failure for the prior staff.

But you don't pronounce it Hurts-es. It's just Hurts. Isn't that the reason for the exception? You don't say Moses-es or Jesus-es.

I think traditionally. FWIW, I would still say "Hurts-es".
Also, style trends are starting to use "'s", even for biblical names like Jesus or Moses (e.g., the Chicago Manual of Style does so). I enjoy all of these "rules" of grammar, which are more often observed in the breach than in the following.

He's not disrespectful. Saban's players treat every game the same. Business as usual.
The problem with it's the Bama mentality argument is that EVERY OTHER PLAYER on that video agreed that it was either a rivalry, a big game, a tough matchup, etc.
Hurts is THE ONLY ONE acting like it's no different than playing Fresno State.
If the whole team was saying it's not a big deal and it's just the next game then your argument would hold water but Hurts is the only one giving LSU no respect.

sounds weird to me...
lady in the office next to me is probably wondering why I am repeating "Hurts-es, Hurts-es".

Yea, this particular point seems to be fairly fluid and changes with each generation. I didn't realize the Chicago Manual had changed even the exceptions with Jesus and Moses. Huh.

Dude some of our own players don't even view this as a "rivalry". Frankly because it isn't one anymore.

It is allowable hence correct but the s' is still preferred, particularly with proper nouns.
No, it's not "preferred". In fact, the "'s" is more prevalent.

My argument really isn't about whether or not we should be considered rivals. It's about the arrogance of Hurts.
Whether or not we can consider this game a rivalry doesn't really matter. They always schedule their Bye week before we play and every other player acknowledged that this is a tough matchup. Hell even Saban said we will be the toughest team they have played thus far.
Hurts was the only arrogant prick that tried to dismiss LSU as not worth a second thought.
It's not just what he said, it's the arrogant tone in which he said it.

I believe you make my point. The LSU game means no more or no less than any other game on thier schedule. Thus it’s just another game for them, and they will cruise. Our O-line and D-line will not be physical enough to stop bama from doing just what they want to do. Saban’s game plan same as always vs LSU. stuff the run then kill the QB.

I mean, the game was scoreless going into the 4th last year. LSU and Bama defenses were knocking heads.

I absolutely got my feelings hurt
I think I'd feel less offended if it was Sabanbeing dismissive or Minkah Fitzpatrick being dismissive because Thise 2 guys have proven to be complete studs at what they do.
Hurts, on the other hand, is lucky to play on the team he plays on. He's a good runner and has good poise but he isn't a great passer and has not proven to be good enough to be as arrogant as he's being.

If you have taken an English class in the last 15 years you'd know that the 's after a word ending in S is considered correct either way similar to the Oxford comma before the word "and" at the end of a list.
I you had any idea that this is a sports board and not an English class, you wouldnt be considered such a nerd.

Also, this game played in Tiger Stadium vs BDS is night/day difference.

nah, I didn't. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a brutal contest. It was the epitome of LSU/Bama in my lifetime. Low scoring, defenses flying all over thee field.

No doubt.
