How much does it bother you that JD might be a top 5 LSU QB ever by the time he leaves?

If we used Daniels the way Auburn used Marshall both JD and the team would benefit. Instead we wanna drop him back 35-40 times a game like he’s Dan Marino.

Wouldn’t bother me one bit, I’d be ecstatic.

Jayden has all the tools. We all know his running ability, but he has a really strong arm and makes good accurate throws a majority of the time. He just needs to learn to pull the trigger for whatever reason hes hesitant.

This is what I keep saying… someone tried to counter with the fact that we have two option plays (a zone read and the inverted triple option to the TE)
It’s getting very cultish and starting to remind me of the Q thread (I’m a Trump supporter but loathed QTards). “Trust Sessions. Trust Barr. Trust Kelly”.

He got Auburn to the national title game.
I liked his bounce pass of the UGA safeties chest and his 46 handoffs to Tre Mason in the SEC Championship game

He’s already better than Nick Marshall.

You want LSU to average 18 pass attempts per game? Do you think that’s a successful formula in 2022?

I like Daniels for what he is, which is a throwback QB to 15-20 years ago. He is a poor mans Vince Young. He cant consistently take a game over like Young was able to do, but he has a similar build, throwing motion, and running style.
You put him at QB in those run first offenses of the early 2000's and he would be a legit top 5 in the nation QB.
Unfortunately for him, we are going into 2023.

Now you’re just being obtuse. What we clearly want is the best passer to drop back 25-30 times per game. And right now that’s Nuss, with Howard probably pretty close.

That’s not the statement I replied to. What I replied to said LSU should use Daniels like Auburn used Marshall.
Nick Marshall barely threw the ball. Is that what you want?

I said “like” I didn’t say script the entire season play for play.

Marshall threw for nearly 450 vs Alabama, JD couldn’t do that in his dreams.

He said that JD would fit in the Malzahn style of offense; I agree.
That’s not the offense for which the rest of our personnel is best suited, so we want to move on from JD in favor of the guy who is clearly in sync with the WRs.

Well, Gus Malzahn’s QB threw a lot this year and is a carbon copy of Nick Marshall, so I don’t think you know what you’re talking about.
It’s 2022, if you’re not averaging 25-30 pass attempts per game, you’re probably being boosted by something extraordinary on your team(defense or run game) or you’re not scoring many points.

It’s a cult, only worship is acceptable. You can’t actually discuss anything surrounding him because the nut jobs melt and scream over anything else.

Look I like Daniels, but you cant possibly believe he is a top 5 QB. Sure, stats wise he will be but those are almost entirely due to the era he is playing in. You put YA Tittle, Bert Jones, Jamie Howard, Jamarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, Zach Mettenberger or Danny Etling in this offense and they all have better passing numbers.
Now, if he has a flip the switch season similar to Jamarcus (that's the highest reasonable expectation, because there was only one Burrow) then yeah, he is an all-time great. I hope to hell it happens, because we are a playoff team if he does.

Nick Marshall who was at Auburn in 2013.
I believe he’s a DB in the CFL now, so that isn’t saying much.
