How would you know this? I don't think Auburn's defense was very good in 2015. The last time he was a DC before that was Texas in 2010 and I don't remember them being particularly stout.

What's wrong with identifying and hiring someone who's actually currently a successful defensive coordinator instead of another retread?

Yea, lets get someone 24 to be DC. He's 49! Aranda is 45 or 46. WTF is wrong with some of you idiots?

Pelini is 52...only 3 years difference in age from Muschamp...

He was DC at Auburn just 5 years ago...the last time Pelini was DC was the last time he was at LSU 2007...

A $100 million organization can under no circumstance ever hire a 24 year old to one of the top three spots in its organization. Get real

Nothing, but Muschamp's failures as a HC don't mean he couldn't still run a good defense for us. Chizik sucked as a HC, but I would take him as DC right now.

This board lost its collective mind when Les hired Kevin Steele because of his Baylor tenure and the Orange Bowl debacle at Clemson, yet since he moved to Auburn, he's been considered one of the most respected DCs in the country.

I'm not advocating for Orgeron to hire Muschamp, but people shouldn't melt down under the assumption he'd be another Pelini if he came back.

I agree with everything you say. He COULD be a good hire. But the post I was responding to was much more definitive.

I'm not sure how anyone could know if he's STILL a damn good DC. 2015 Auburn defense wasn't very good. Neither was 2010 Texas.

Oh great, another dinosaur.
eh, I agree. He's not kept pace with opposition offenses and didn't seem to go that way at SCAR.

But at this point it would damn sure be a good idea to get him on staff in analyst capacity.

Yeah- there's more than a little hint of ole boy network there taking care of each other.

BUT... having him in the backseat taking a look at what we have, with his experience, can never hurt.

Worth noting too, players that played for him love him. But at the end of the day, we need all the help we can get and Bama or UGA will be looking to do the same.

Totally agree. My post wasn't so much directed at you, but to anyone already freaking out at the mere suggestion of Muschamp returning to LSU. And again, I'm not advocating for that to happen.

Your comment that I quoted was on point and just got me typing.
