Bo Pelini is #LSU defensive coordinator as I type this. But Ed Orgeron and Will Muschamp have a great rapport and respect for each other. This will be interesting to watch, is all I'm saying.

If the buyout stands USC is on the hook for 15 million to pay Muschamp, I can see him coming on as an analyst

We hung 52, A&M 48, and Ole Miss just dropped 59 on Muschamp's defense... Muschamp has been recycled enough throughout college football.

Not a dinosaur in age, his D's have been abysmal at SCar. What makes you think he can come here and be any better than Bo? His lack of adaptations to modern football are what cost him at his last two jobs.

Why do some still want him here?

It’s possibly different when you’re just a coordinator. You’re really dialed in to one side of the ball and that takes away a lot of the additional focal points you have as a head coach. I think Champ is capable of placing a solid defense at LSU as the talent level is different than at SC. That said, I definitely think it wouldn’t hurt to bring him in, in some capacity and see how much fire is actually left in his tank. Maybe we find that he’s burnt out or we find that he’s just not a head coach but a solid D coordinator.

The USC defensive gameplan against us that involved zero pressure or confusing fronts against a true freshman QB was pretty pathetic.

Totally agree with this. This would be a terrible hire. Seems like the first question Ed is asking himself is Am I going to have to worry about this guy looking for another job anytime soon. He’s the next Brent Venables!!
