That'd extend the game by a good half hour with the 5 laps he'd get per game.

OK, the kid is struggling, but let's not get carried away. He's probably averaging less than a strike out per game. He's made some good contact, just not finding the gaps. I hope he turns it around, but I also hope we get the lead off spot worked out, either way.

I was more or less with you until

What team is gonna draft someone who can't hit? Honestly, JJ reminds me a lot of a more talented me when I was a kid. Great leather, never a liability in that department, but just can't hit. Put a machine in there, I'd drill line drives all over the field. As soon as it was a live arm, though, I'd just do my best to work the count and hope to get beaned or walked. I don't know what his impediment is, but he absolutely has the talent to hit better than what he has the past two years. But he hasn't done it. I trust PM's decision to keep him in the lineup, but I've pretty much given up on him being able to provide a base hit, ESPECIALLY when we need it.

He needs to have a spot in the lineup and we ride him out.

i like him a lot and had high hopes. I just don't think 2nd base is a position where you can accept really poor hitting

You guys better be careful when talking about JJ this way. On this board he is the best 2nd baseman LSU has ever had and without him in the lineup LSU can't win.

I agree. What MLB team would risk a top 10 round pick on a kid hitting .188 and with the SEC getting into full swing pitching will only get tougher the rest of the year.

I see Jacoby either coming back next year or just take any offer in order to get a change of scenery. He's in a tough spot. I feel a bit sorry for him

Not for nothing but MLB scouts love potential and you all can say what you want about him, he will be drafted high.

I even found one mock site with an up to date draft that has him going in the first round to LA Dodgers.
