J. Daniels v J Burrow - First LSU Game Stats Comparison

Edit to add: Players will improve and the GOAT LSU QB did not play as well as JD his first game. Period. That’s the point I’m trying to make. JD still has 2 full seasons to go and look where he is starting from! Some of you are dense as f#%>!! Wow. I knew Burrow would spoil our fan base. Everyone expects our QB to be Burrow now, even if we don’t have the 2 first round WRs who are top 15 in the NFL now, first round RB and best oline in college football. Y’all truly amaze me.
Edit to add 2: I bet the same people who are bashing JD are the same ones who bashed JB in 2018. And look how that turned out. I'm excited to see what this kid will be at the end of next season. Will he be Burrow, no he won't. But I have a good feeling about him once the coaches figure out how to game plan around his and the team's strengths.
Let's compare their first game stats in an LSU uniform. How does Jayden compare to the GOAT? I find this interesting to say the least.

J. Burrow 11 for 24, 45.8%, 0 TD, 0 INT, 94.8 QB Rating, 4 Rushes, 14 Yds, 3.5 ypc
2022 vs Fla St - Final Record ????
J. Daniels 26 for 35, 74.3%, 2 TD, 0 INT, 143.3 QB Rating, 16 Rushes, 114 Yds, 7.1 ypc
Many on here thinks Jayden sucked on Sunday night. I wonder what people were saying about Joe Burrow.

Outside of the final drive where FSU only rushed 3 people, Daniels did suck. Just so we’re clear

Many on here were hammered Sunday night and didn’t realize until yesterday that it wasn’t Daniels fault that he seemed to have a run first mentality. But in fact it was Mike Denbrock having our receivers run 20 yd routes every play for 3 quarters
Daniels actually played very well given the shitty coaching

Nobody will admit it but there was a pretty good chunk of the fan base that wasn't really SOLD on Burrow until the 7OT game.
Once he got hit in the Fiesta game and proceeded to rip UCF a new a-hole I think the majority bought in.

Too bad you can't choose to pick and choose when the suck vs not suck starts and finishes. Outside the first half when our oline decided not to block anyone, plus his 1-to-2 TD drops, I can say he was all world. Yeah, 3 TD drives in the second half and almost had 5 TD drives, including all that time you said he sucked (first drive bad snap - not counting the 50/50 Boutte dropped and pass dropped by Boutte later in the game).
How many bombs were dialed up when our line couldn't block anyone??? HMMMMMMMMMM.....

Let’s be honest, Jayden was not great in the first half, but he got hot in the 4th quarter. Jayden played his heart out and earned the starting job. LSU didn’t lose because of Jayden.

That is a stupid arse take man c'mon. Jayden has played college ball for three years hes has 28 starts. That was Joe's first start. It shouldn't matter if it was in an LSU jersey or not.

So what is wrong with his stat line? Tell me what you don’t like. And tell me why it matters what happened prior to LSU. One could argue Joe was coached by some of the best at Ohio St. But what stat did you not like. Just curious. Did you expect him to complete 100% of his passes. Did you also expect for him to rush for 200 yds. Just curious what DID you expect.
Were his stats good? Absolutely.
Did he turn it over? Nope.
Does his oline suck for the first half (at least)? Yep.
Should LSU have scored more points? Yep
Did he have 3 scoring drives in the second half. Yep
Did he take us on a 99 yd drive in 1:20 minutes. Yep.

I am actually excited to see if the Daniels offense works.
As far as the comparison, only one stat matters:
Record after Burrows first LSU start: 1-0
Record after Daniels first LSU start: 0-1

Really? You are comparing Joe’s first game to Jayden? Joe was in a new offense and not use to being under center. He read the defense and made the calls that were necessary. Plus he never had spring practice with the team.
Not hating on Jayden but you can’t compare Joe to Jayden. Those are 2 completely different things.
