As a lifelong 49ers fan, I approve of the Rams drafting him.

Lamar was a twig coming into the NFL, he added that muscle on afterwards

And JD has proven to be much better than Lamar EVER has been when not running.

Teams with good defenses that could get away with running zone and simply force Lamar to stay in the pocket make him super medicore with a quickness. JD has proven to be MUCH harder to keep in the pocket and if you're just gonna run zone against him to keep eyes forward, he's shown he can beat that shite with his arm.

It’s insane to see what JD5 has evolved into. I was talking with someone last night about this, among the top dual threat QBs over the years in CFB…is Daniels the best?

I’m talking specifically the ones that were elite rushers - Lamar, Vick, Cam, Frazier, Young, etc. Daniels is deceptively fast and elusive, and I’d personally include him among best running QBs I’ve watched. Maybe not THE best mostly due to his size and attempts, but elite nonetheless.

The difference is many of these type of QBs are good, but not great passers. Typically there’s issues with accuracy, arm strength, turnover prone, or something. Daniels is head and shoulders above this though, and is also an elite passer! It’s simply incredible to watch.

JD has gotten absolutely rocked throughout his time here. It’s been my (and I’d guess the coaching staff’s) biggest complaint about JD is that he is reckless with his well-being.

If the biggest criticism of the guy is that he has too much heart and toughness for his own good sometimes, then that's my freaking quarterback.

His conditioning is crazy. I noticed it last night..he doesn't sweat. He had over 200yds running and was in the 4th qtr and had no sweat anywhere. It was nice out but still nuts.

should clarify. In the pocket, he's been nailed.
You're still wrong. He's been hit hard a number of times running downfield.

And i haven't seen these head scratching passes you speak of.

It's like you don't watch at all.

His instincts, acceleration, and spatial awareness are what does it.

He always seems to have a feel of who’s around him and where he needs to go when he’s running. He must have crazy peripheral vision.

His top end speed is great, probably a 4.4 guy, and he gets to full speed in two steps.

He throws as well as any quarterback in college football with a quick release.

This makes him unreal to try and defend.

If we had an average defense, no doubt we win it all this year.

And a lot of guys run out of gas on a long run and get caught just shy of the goal line. Not Daniels, 85 yard sprint.

He said in the presser he got tired on that run but didn't want to get caught or he'd hear about it all week.

for sure - and I worry how he will fare in the NFL - he would be getting some serious hits there most of the time - from bigger players.

I have always thought he was a little thin to be absorbing such hits. = amazed at his resilience.

He throws the intermediate crossing and the dig routes as well, not to mention check downs to his backs.

Dude still throws occasional head scratcher balls that are much worse throws than his overall stats would lead you to expect. But, his passing is still light years better than when he arrived and, for the most part, he's developed into a legit passer. And yes, before you respond.......but the yards!!! I get it. But shite, I can't even imagine how one devises a secondary to properly cover passing routes when the damned QB is capable, almost whenever he feels like it, or ripping off 25 yards with his feet.

His passing is light years better than Lamar Jackson’s was coming out of college.

He is a much better passer then RG3 but i fear he would get a knee tore up when he goes to NFL.
RG3 ran a lot that first year because he was comfortable running versus passing from pocket. Jayden will need to run as absolut last option and learn to slide.

He'll slide one way or the other in the NFL. His coach will tell him to slide of he'll get hit by NFL Linebackers and then decide sliding is best. The number of times he runs will also decrease in the pros.
