The first target in the end zone would have been a circus catch with the defender all over him on an under thrown ball. The second target was Daniels throwing early and hitting him in the leg. I’m guessing that he was running a different route. Guy was getting covered by a corner and over the top with safety help. The question is why didn’t the coaches or the qb recognize this and use to their advantage?

I don’t have a problem with players making “business” decisions, but if you choose to take the money, you become an employee. Either perform or GTFO. The jock sniffing clowns on this board don’t seem to understand that this goes both ways.

I do believe this is where it is headed. College Football players are no longer amateur athletes. That facade is over. With NIL deals and what I think will eventually happen, some salary/pay for all football players once this new playoff takes off (which will make more money than any other sport save the NFL playoffs), some of that money is going to be given to the players.

At this point college players are NFL light. That is the reality, just as NFL players are criticized, so to will college players, that is the price you way once you get paid. Now, is some of the criticism over the top when it gets to threats, yes, those people are knuckleheads.

But calling someone out for effort, or choking on a play, well that is now part of what is now College football, which is fact now a semi-pro league(s) of teams attached to Universities.

He’s just a number on a board now. He has not recovered from his injury mentally and he may never. Don’t be surprised if some young hungry kid takes his place.

I can give some kids a benefit of a doubt. I'll look forward to see how he plays the next game. It seemed to me he was pissed at how LSU performed and how he performed.
You think the team is one thing and then you realize the team isn't as good as you thought they were, so there was frustration, there was anger over losing the game, I'm sure he was pissed for assuming he wouldn't get that TD pass and it bounced off him. I don't think a transfer is in the cards. I really hope this is him getting focused on his play and making the team better.
I'm glad he is still a Tiger and hope he focuses like a laser beam. I don't think this is him throwing a temper tantrum and looking to transfer. I hope to hear "Boutte for a touchdown" a lot this year.

It would not surprise me if he sustains a nagging "injury" that forces him to sit out several games, after which he decides to leave the team.

It's too late for him to transfer. He was looking to transfer in December. That's what I was referring to in the OP

No. Boutte was upset because he was working his arse off to get open and the qb was too scared to throw him the ball……

I really can't begrudge a guy for trying to maximize his earnings.

The new definition of maximizing your earnings in this clown world is throwing a fit, quitting on your team and threatening to walk every time you don't get your way? Interesting take.

I wish Boutte had the same leadership qualities as Ojulari. Then he/we would have something.

When did he do any of this?

He didn't throw any fits in the off season.

None of what we saw in the game was about maximizing his earnings.

If that's what you got from my post, then the only clown here is you.

You guys can make excuses for Boutte all day. It wasn't just the easy drop balls he had. His route running was horrible. He was basically trotting on his routes. Then he is waving his hands in frustration after every play where the ball wasn't thrown to him.

Listen to this. I don't understand how he is ranked to supposedly go so high in the NFL draft. He is basically a great athlete who can run after the catch. His YAC yards are awesome. He runs like a halfback after he makes an easy catch.. That being stated, you never see him make 'cat like catches over defenders. He always just catches and easy 10-15 yard pass and then runs. You never see him diving for balls, leaping over defenders or anything like a great receiver excels at. You guys are giving this kid way to much props from listening to Sport shows. Go back and watch when the ball is not going to him and watch his route running. Looks like he is moving in slow motion Coaches need to quit babying him Let him quit if he doesn't want to play hard. Also, taking down his LSU social media pics , etc. Super childish

I'm not making excuses for him. I'm simply considering the possibility that what I saw on Sunday was not because he was checked out and that it was rust, tentativeness and frustration.

We'll get the answer soon enough, so no need to rush to judgment.
