Expect more of the same if this happens

This is for sure, but you can't actually say that because the Orgeron nuthuggers will get offended. If we lose the bowl game then we'll have gone 9-4 yet again while they try to spin it like it we improved since last year. That's what gets me the most about some of the people on this board. They continually tout the preseason predictions of a worse season than we had like some kind of badge of honor. So, they spin it like Orgeron is some kind of genius for being able to win 9 games with an extremely talented roster.

It's a forgone conclusion that there is no plan to fix the Offense. O is in a position of his choosing as looking bad staying pat or a 3rd OC in 3 years. Miles choices got him fired and one day so will O's. But it won't be any time soon I can assure you.

please, they got that 3rd loss by the grace of god and played one of the toughest schedules in the country.

We are returning a boat load of talent, and have risen to top 5 on the recruiting board. I think 3 losses is our floor, especially next season.

You act like it's a given that Aranda is staying as long as O is the coach. When Aranda leaves, the OC won't have the luxury of being ranked in the triple digits.

I don't accept that.

I'd rather end up disappointed than settled for poor results.

Then Orgeron needs to be gone at the end of next season if the offense is as bad as this year.

Fixing the problems with the offense was something he promised to do.

3 or more losses every year since 2011 will have you thinking this way.

This is stupidity. I guess it's anything to avoid replacing Ensminger, which would make Orgeron look bad since he hired him in the first place.

I think that's pretty clear. Unless E wants to step down completely I see it working out this way.

1) bring in a new co-oc with E. Someone who can likely coach QBs as well. This saves face for O and avoids a firing or demotion for E.

2) E rides his contract out through I think 2020.

3) the co-oc becomes the OC when E is out. Assuming they stay that long.

Just a guess. I really have no clue what will happen.

You're better off just enjoying the ride til the wheels fall off, there's nothing this e-handwringing can do about it

I think that is actually a prediction. A poor one, at that.

A fact is that LSU is in position to make their first big NY bowl in 12 years, after playing the toughest schedule in CFB.

I have and glad he is. Give the man a chance it is only 1 year. Next year experience will show whether he should stay or go.

Brutal schedule. Even though miami and auburn didnt turn out to be good teams, the staff still spent a lot of time preparing for them. That heavy pressure builds over a season, and yea it does look like they were burned out at the end. Let's see what O can do with some depth, top 5 recruiting classes, and an easier schedule. Looking at the roster and competition, I think we are a 1-2 loss team next year.

Who knows? E may retire after another year or two. He’s got a tough job right now. Especially considering his age.

maybe, maybe not. You act like we won't field a defense when Arranda leaves. We don't know what the defense will look like.

I do know that he just signed a 4 year contract extension, and seems to enjoy being a Tiger. I do know that we are crushing the recruiting trail right now. I do know that we are currently ranked 10th in the nation.

Did we under perform in a couple games? yes
Did we over perform in a couple of games? yes

So? That's their job. We never should've lost to Florida or A&M. The annual loss to Bama is a foregone conclusion for the time being. Orgeron doesn't get any excuses next year. He's got his recruits and coaches in place. If he fails, it's all on him.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh when I read this.

It's funny that we find ourselves in the same damn situation we were dealing with 3 years ago with Les and Cameron...Another year of Poor offensive production and another inseparable HC/OC relationship.

I don'think it is a matter of evaluating E and O for one year. It is a matter of watching other teams with similar talent and rankings and wondering why in the heck doesn't LSU run an offensive scheme similar to that. Ohio State beat Michigan running a 5 yard crossing route, something LSU doesn't seem to know is available. Ohio State nor Oklahoma have the defense LSU has but have only lost one game because they have an offensive scheme that was birthed since 2000 and not 1960.
