E ever wanted the OC job. E is LSU through and through. He may have took the position because LSU didn’t have the money to pay for another big time coach. Now that les and Canada have been paid off E can go back to his old job and LSU can get a big ime OC.

Best case scenario for everyone:

Ensminger announces he’s “retiring” due to age, pressure, whatever. Takes a reduced role as an analyst.

LSU hires Kenny Dillingham or Kendall Briles. Both are young (Dillingham is 28), rising stars who ran Top 5 offenses at smaller schools.

O doesn’t have to look bad by firing the guy he fired another guy for.

Ensminger stays on staff, does what he’s good at, and stops getting shite on in public.

LSU upgrades offense with modern day route concepts and a younger OC that can recruit.

Win-Win-Win.

In a way it makes sense.

In a vacuum, it would be ridiculous to give a coach the opportunity to hire a 3rd OC in his first 3 years.

Funny. Hilarious. Accept the FACT. What Fact. Coach O is tremendous for lsu. He loves the school and is a great representative of lsu. We live in broke Baton Rouge. A@M had 15 people with a waiting list for 12-15 million dollar up front payment suites. That's right. Just a little different than the big time business in BR. So what phenom are we gonna get that is better than O in BR????????

maybe, maybe not. You act like we won't field a defense when Arranda leaves. We don't know what the defense will look like.

They'll field a defense, but do you see who O hired for his last coordinator? Little scary to think he might have to hire a DC.

In my opinion, he's 0-2 on coordinator hires.

O may get fired in the near future, only time will tell but E will not be fired, he will go back to coaching TE’s which he would do after this year if asked to, in the event they bring in another OC

I hope he just retires and leaves. In fact, I don't want any of the offensive side coming back. We've tried firing the top and leaving the staff in place. It didn't work. Let's clean house and let the OC handle filling in what he thinks we need.

You do realize that having a TE coach in college football is obsolete these days?

The fact that so many on this board don't realize that demoting Ensminger to a position that barely ANY OTHER COLLEGE TEAM has goes to show how out of touch even most LSU fans are with modern college football.

No wonder Ed gets away with pulling the wool over so many eyes.

I think he's doing just fine. O fires these kids up and gets the best out of them. I don't know what magical coach you people think is going to come here and win 11-12 games a season. What other sec school besides bama has a prolific offense?

I think you don't understand how good these sec defenses really are. You've been watching too much big 12 if you think passing for 400 yds/game is attainable.

I don’t believe the TE position is obsolete. It is still a valuable position but it is being used less and less these days in college

I agree that the position itself is not obsolete.

Having a coach dedicated entirely to the position is absolutely obsolete.

Nobody is looking for prolific, we're just looking for top 50. With the talent LSU has, it shouldn't be that hard. That is of course if you hire someone that is the least bit competent.
