I know Kyle Peterson fondly talks about gorilla ball when he faced LSU....Is there video of his outing with lsu in the CWS?

Yep. He was atrocious in Omaha that year.
True dat. Cresse was so great during the regular season, but really looked bad in the CWS until his NC championship walk off hit. Not a bad way to redeem oneself.

Me too. Being one win away from the chance to play for the 3-peat will prolly never come again.

Still get the chills listening to Jim's call on the warren Morris homer.
That's definitely my all-time favorite LSU baseball moment.

My Dad was in recovery from triple bypass surgery. The surgeon moved up the surgery to early morning to ensure he was able to get home and watch the game. Priorities, right?

So, while I was waiting for him to wake up, I went from OLOL to George's Southside to watch the game. When that ball cleared the wall, that place went nuts. So, I didn't hear the call on air live, just later-enjoyed hearing it again.

When he hit that home run, I ran out into the front yard celebrating and yelling that we won. We lived in Oklahoma at the time and all the neighbors that saw me thought I was crazy.

That was a great win!

That's what most people say on here. You're doing it right. What amazes me, mylsuhat, is people who don't realize how actually difficult play by play is. He is talented. Hardest thing you can do in broadcasting is what he does. Anyone who says Jim Hawthorne is awful is ignorant.

Bare in mind, he's been doing it for over 30 years and does three different sports. Incredible. People don't realize how good they have it until they're gone. I challenge anyone to find another better in the SEC.

Like many people have said, it's one of those moments you'll always know where you were. I spoke with Warren the other day and he could tell you stories for hours. People come up to him weekly and still to this day tell him where they were.

was watchin' on TV.

I still have it on VHS. I was living in BR at the time and it's great to watch and see the old BR commercials and such. I need to convert that to DVD or BluRay soon before it gets too damaged. The whole family knows that it is off limits and never to touch it

Alex Cora. Whiniest Bish Ever.

If you look at the 1:55 mark of that '96 clip you'll see him dive dramatically for a ball way in the hole with no shot at it. He's either got poor depth perception or likes doing little league antics to appear to be giving it 110%. Tool.

Speaking of the '96 team, I've always thought Mike Koerner did not get enough credit. That guy was beyond solid.
