At the 57:57 mark of his Dual Threat Podcast, Ryen Russillo says the following when talking about his recent visit to Happy Valley for the Penn State / Ohio State game:

quote:

The Penn State white-out is really, really cool. And once again if anyone asks me if it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen, my answer is, “It’s not LSU on a Saturday night. And until further notice, that’ll be my answer. Forever.”

I mean, their white out was for a top 10 matchup with Ohio State. It's not like it was Indiana coming to town.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why there are so many miserable people that post here. It’s nearly universally accepted that LSU on a Saturday night is the best thing in college football and many of our own fans choose to be miserable about it instead.

So people don't get excited to watch LSU play Southeastern, Louisiana Tech and a shitty Ole Miss team get their arse kicked in the rain? Shocking. If Miami would have been in Tiger Stadium it would have been rocking.

If the game is meaningful, it’s very special. If not, meh.

Question is did it used to be hopping on a Saturday on an average or below average game?

Who cares anyway.

This. LSU isn't the only program that doesn't keep the stadium packed for 4 quarters while playing some directional school. And yea, there was a time when Tiger Stadium was rocking on every Saturday night. But times are different now. You can watch every game on TV from anywhere in the world. So people aren't going to be falling over themselves to shell out $100+ for tickets, parking, concessions, travel, etc. when they can watch at home. And the schools don't really care because they're making more money than ever BECAUSE of the TV deals that allow people to watch from anywhere.

But in an apples to apples comparison, when hosting a top 10 match-up on a Saturday night, the environment in Death Valley is hard to beat.

If everyone was more worried about cheering for the Tigers, instead of worried about the band playing neck .. LSU could return to a Very intimidating place. Maybe we need to see haw they rooted for the Tigers back in the 60-80’s before everything changed ?? and quit playing that silly song (lo weeee zzz ana)
And play “Hey Fighting Tigers”!!

Do any of you guys actually go to games against conference opponents. Were y'all at the Auburn and A&M games last year? Or literally any bama home game?
