If they are, they should have to prove it like everyone else. Name another team that is treated the same.

Go look at their schedules and explain to me how my statement is dumb. I’ll wait for this one

Right and let's see where the committee has AL this week. Right at #4 and AL will stay at #4 with every win over their next 3 games.
Yesterday's "close" score will get AL into the playoffs.

I assume you are trolling. Minn's opponents going into yesterday had a win % of 42%

Even after playing a highly overrated Penn St, they come in with a SOS of 70

You think the committee gives two fricks about an LSU message board opinion? Loll

There is no such thing as best team. There is no way to determine the best team.

ALL YOU CAN DO is decide how you want to decide who your champion is.

This year at this moment, I can't say that Bama deserves to be in the top 4.

I may change my mind later after more games.

They also finish up the season with 2 ranked teams. And they would be playing a close game to the #1 team. Their SOS would go way up

Alabama is currently at 54. They still play auburn. Dude, Alabama would be favored over minn by at least 21 and probably 25 points.

That said, neither will make the playoffs.

It’s not about being favored, it’s about who deserves it. Minnesota would be 12-1, Bama 11-1, but you’re right, neither will make it

I would say the conference schedules are about a wash. Bama playing Duke makes their OOC schedule better than Minnesota. They also better results OOC as Minnesota struggled to beat Fresno State in OT and they are terrible.

You also didnt say if they run the table and go 12-0 they deserve a rematch more than Bama. You said if they make the conf championship game and lose a close one to OSU they deserve it. They can easily lose a conference game and probably 2 and still make the conference title game. A 11-2 minnesota does not deserve to be in the playoffs over an 11-1 Alabama.

Minn will probably have 3 losses, and maybe another in the bowl depending on what sec team they draw.

So what's the use in continuing to whine about it? We can't change anything.

So Bama should be rewarded for having a weak schedule and losing to the only ranked team they played, actually the only team they’ve played to date with a winning record? Meanwhile, Oregon could win 12 straight, be PAC XII champs having beaten ranked Utah, but they get left out in favor of Bama because of the “eyeball test?” What a farce that would be, if for no other reason than it would be the THIRD time they’ve done it!

“eye test”

The Eye Test is just code for Media Darling. Penn State won the Eye Test over Minnesota. Michigan, Texas and USC won the Eye Test before the season even started, then they had to actually play football.

Oregon going 12-1 and winning the PAC 12 will not be ranked below Alabama. Nor would a 12-1 PAC 12 champion Utah.

I understand that many people are grasping at straws trying to block Ala. I am personally Auburn’s biggest fan at the moment. But Minn was 17 for a reason. Go look at their OoC games. If you want to block Ala, look to a conf champion or an Ala loss.
They beat Ga Southn by 3 points if I remember correctly!

The only comparison we have is an L to us

They do not deserve to be mentioned in any playoff discussion

Recruiting rankings play no role in whether a team makes the playoffs. Eye test does not equal recruiting rankings.

It absolutely does, indirectly. I see endless comments about how “despite the loss, that team is still so talented and better than these other teams with equal or better records.” That’s why this eye test crap to seed the playoffs will always be flawed and reward bias for teams like them.

we just beat Bama for the first time in 8 years, yet people are still obsessed with Alabama.

Move the hell on. Stop letting Bama live in your head.
