He and his family literally bled P&G. Good man, great family. No one should speak poorly of them.

Like many greats... he stayed on too long. The work passed him by.

Shame he has to be let go instead of him recongizing it and moving on gracefully... but he neeeded to be replaced.

I wonder if that is something similar to the decline Bama has had in the trenches? Their guys look absolutely enormous. The past few years, they just haven't been as dominant in that area.

It’s funny bc last year posters on here were saying we’ve finally caught back up to Bama… they switched to a more cutting edge program based on new techniques & data tracking after they hired David Ballou & Dr. Matt Rhea from Indiana.

Now Alabama loses 2 games & their S&C program is falling behind

He should have been put out to pasture YEARS ago

Within 8 years lsu fielded the two best teams in their long history, 2011 & 2019.

Moffit led strength & conditioning for a team that played in the national championship once every 5 years for the last 20

It’s nice to have good players again. LSU was not prepared for the 2019 roster turnover, losing all the coordinators, and the ensuing covid season.

moffit was using VBT training too, not a ton has changed on that, atleast from his latter years. biggest difference is willingness to lighten load and focus solely on velocity(think classic westside barbell dynamic effort) and removing so much olympic lifting using med ball variations for speed and distance to increase power. power is plain specific and they are using med balls and other things to work specific plains without having to use so much olympic lifts

as far as the comment about TM being classic trainer only focusing on heavier and heavier weight from one of the otehr posters.....dude stfu you have no clue what you are talking about

i have made it clear now for years i didnt agree with TMs old school approach to conditioning, but lets be real he forgot more last week about S&C than 99.99% of us will ever know. and the shite sure as hell worked in 2019. biggest change is was lack of support from the head coach. that was not on tommy.

was it time for tommy to go...absolutely but he also works at the behest of the HC. HC sets direction and consequences and tells the S&C coach what kind of players he wants or what he feels each player needs to work on. Tm is a great man, an amazing strength coach but it was time for a new voice and new blood in the building....but dont think for a min he wasnt a great one or he suddenly is too dumb to coach because that is anything but the truth.

As someone who has a graduate degree in kinesiology / exercise physiology, I completely agree!

It’s funny how conditioning magically improves when the head coach actually holds players accountable

While I think new blood was needed, this is the biggest difference.

Not saying new blood wasn't needed but everyone wants blame Moffitt for the past few years. The fact that Kelly is making players turn in weekly accountability worksheets shows how little supervision there was outside the building.
