After that tennessee game, I put "bad hire skip" on the billboard in front of my store.
That has to be the biggest knee jerk reaction of all time.

You think exactly how Miles was play calling when we took the lead....like he had a 21 pnt lead.

sometimes I don't think some of you read what you write....or really pay attention

Yeah, I would have been really nervous taking a 7pt lead into the fourth quarter at Bama.

I didn't think "bad hire" but if it didn't throw up a red flag, maybe you should read the Pop Warner FB rules book that was sent to Miles.

No...i remember UGA fans, USC fans, and OU fans asking why they didnt get a shot. And they were answered numerous times.

Dinardo was a good hire....until his stubborness made him look like a moron. had he brought in good O and D coordinators, he would have been ok. Dinardo couldn't stand having someone who knew football better than him on his staff, hence his demise.

That's what the media does BEFORE the game. It's their job. 2005 and 2002 were the only times in the last 9 years where there wasn't a valid dispute about who should play in the game. But that doesn't mean that every national champ has been seen as a fraud.

After the game was played, there was no discussion about who the best team of 2007 was. People may say it was a year with no dominant team, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone claiming LSU didn't deserve to be the champ in 07, again, other than our own idiot fans still using the Arkansas game to knock our head coach.

How many legitimate SEC schools would trade coaches right now? Let's start there.

I'm not saying I though we didn't deserve to go. But after losing to Arkansas, I thought there was no chance in hell we go at that point. I couldn't foresee everything that led our selection.

Very first home game under very trying circumstances. I'd give the guy a break. He didn't lose again until the SEC championship game and his team and his coaching staff was exhausted. That was 11 games in a row.

I thought Les Miles was a bad hire in 2005. No matter what kind of evidence may point to the contrary, I will not give in. I will use anything that goes wrong with the program to validate my original response, even though the person I wanted LSU to hire wouldn't have come here / has fallen on his face elsewhere / has faded into oblivion. I secretly like it when things go poorly for LSU so I can post incredibly stupid things on the Rant.

This is your post I was responding to:

Am I happy we won the 2007 NC? frick yeah, I'm ecstatic. It's just that the rest of the country and the media refuses to consider it legitimate.

I'm just saying you are dead wrong. Everyone knows it's legitimate other than a few Miles haters in BR.

Why do people always say this? We needed OU to beat Missouri, which they had already done and were FAVORED to do again, and we needed Pitt to upset WV in an intense rivalry known as the "Backyard Brawl". That was it.

As soon as White got hurt, which had already happened a couple of times that year because RR ran him INTO THE GROUND, not even the Big East refs could save WV.

It wasn't as crazy as it seemed. LSU's odds of jumping into the top 2 were much better in 07 than they were in 03 IMO.

stop talking about anything after that.
are you really arguing in Miles' defense when he tried to stop the clock on a COP with a TO and was subsequently tackled by an asst coach? you do realize he is the HC of a top tier CFB program?

trying circumstances? like every wknd?

I mean...seriously???

If your teenager was under a lot of pressure due to not enough peanut butter for a PB&J, so he freaks out and tries to jam the knife into the electric socket, that wouldn't make you think about his reasonability?

Of course I'm kidding and wish no ill will towards your children, or Miles doing the same thing FTM.

Vandy, maybe MSU

Auburn (no, but not no way), UGA (no way, their fans would revolt & they aren't in love with Richt), Ten (no way), SC (no, but not no way).

& even if all of these were yes (which they aren't) I did say legitimate schools. this is the bottom half of the conference. I thought Miles was elite.

JP, I am not sold on you being able to change your opinion of Miles if it was ever written in stone in front of you that he turned out to be a bad hire. I am waiting until the end of this season and see what happens. I am of the opinion that other coaches could have produced similar outcomes as Miles his first three seasons given the talent level and some historically strong programs in the SEC falling to the pack. Zooker, Fulmer, where have you gone? Hell, even the Tubster is gone now.

In order, who do you think the 5 best overall football coaches are in the SEC?
