not true. my sister just moved back to BR from Little Rock. she has absolutely NO connections, pays no money to LSU (such as TAF or any other). I graduated from LSU, she did not. Her husband is an LSU grad (undergrad & grad) but also does not contribute to any foundations, etc.
Good for you! I'm a donor to all three foundations... the LSU Foundation, LSU Alumni Association and TAF. I'm an LSU graduate. I work for LSU. My 5th grader has Leap scores in the top 3% of students in all categories. My wife is a career education administrator. My kid has been turned down for U-High three consecutive years.
I'm happy for her... but tell your sister not to blow her spot.

I think they were at Aloysius. Or at least he was spotted there a few times at Mass.
His son and daughter went to Aloysius for middle school, but his son ended up at UHS for high school.

ding ding ding we have a winner.
no more or less connected than anywhere/thing else. Good grades and good behavior still go a long way. If that fails, well then maybe Plan B.

Public, but, unless you're connected, you won't get in.

Didn't Marcus Spears go there?

Big Baby, Chad Loup, Temple Brothers, Okie Woods, Ahmad Harris(la tech). Thats just a few recruits. I expect Uhigh to drop off the map in atheletics because Temple Sr. is no longer involved.

Let's not forget about the much heralded Temple brothers
Oh, yea. I forgot about them.

Not so fast, my friend... He has a daughter that is real young, but goes to Uhigh nonetheless.
Also, Anthony Kimble, current RB at Stanford, played there and was also a really good BBall player with Baby and Garrett Temple.

Troy Williams -- Preseason All-SWAC QB for Southern, until injuring leg/knee as a result of brutal facemask penalty (also a great chess player at state math tournaments)

From what I understand, although it was before we got there, Shorty's kid had some problems of some sort and ended up elsewhere before they jetted off to watch Daddy ruin the Dolphins.
Went to Catholic

For U-High's size (graduating classes between 60-80) they do produce a decent amount of talent.
I believe the golfers referred to earlier were brent and rebecca struthers. To continue with obscure sport grads: Arty(sp?) Brown (All-SEC soccer), Margaret Beadle (swimming), and I feel like a tennis player came out of there or something.

It is a public high school run by LSU that charges tuition (like $3500 per year) but that certain LSU staff member's children can go to without tuition. It is no more a prep school for LSU than any other public high school in Louisiana.
That's a total lie. I have children there and work at LSU and I know of no one who gets free tuition because they work at LSU.

A total lie? That may be a bit of a broad generalization. It is a public high school run by LSU and the costs are about right.
As to tuition exemptions, I didn't say ALL staffers get tuition exemptions.

Like pointed out earlier, coaches get it "free" but it's just written into their contracts
