If they don’t make the CWS with this bracket it will be a shocker

If they don't make it to Omaha with this lineup it will definitely be used as a measuring stick. How could it not be. Everything will be scrutinized under a microscope in perpetuity.

In other words, if lsu loses another regional, i think the present coach is NOT the answer lsu is looking for.

You can’t judge a coach based on one season. If underperforming were to become a pattern, then you would have a valid argument. One season isn’t a pattern and what makes your argument even more premature is that it hasn’t even happened yet.

I think it definitely is. Anything less than Omaha will be a disappointment. Remember, this is a guy that had more 6th place finishes in the PAC-12 than he has CWS Appearances! He needs to prove himself here!

If he can't get this team to Omaha then he is in for a mediocre tenure here.

Yes, it’s his second year, but it wouldn’t represent a pattern of underachieving. Last year they took the host team to the limit but the pitching staff just ran out of gas. They have gone from 13 to 17 to 19 conference wins. They’ve gone from one of the last teams in the field to one of the last teams not to get a host spot to earning a national seed. The only thing that doesn’t yet reflect forward progress was one weekend of magic in 2021 that you clearly are assigning undue weight. This program is headed in the right direction regardless of the postseason results. No, Johnson cannot go on indefinitely not reaching Omaha, but I am not going to judge him solely on the results of the next two weeks.

Usually when a coach retires,

They call it forced out.

2021 this same group of players went to the supers, last year this group got beat by USM in the regionals. That wasnt a step up. Hopefully this weekend will be, if not, to me, this team hasnt gotten better. It’s the same core group of players. Normally years together and experience, teams improve.

There it is. You surely hate Johnson.

2021, PM got his squad(same core group of players)

I don’t give 2 fricking shits about position players who were freshmen with a MUCH MUCH more capable pitching staff in 2021 vs 2022 douche. Marceaux, Labas, Hill, Coleman… and It is like “Coleman and Hill” were pitchers on 2021 and 2022 KNOWING BOTH didn’t pitch most of 2022 and neither were there the last half of the season considering Hill’s injury.

Then you leave out how teams match-up. Southern Miss had a GREAT pitching staff last year as you can see by the picks, transfers and what’s left.

PITCHING BEATS HITTING.

Everything about your post is judging Johnson's results against PM. It is obvious you have an agenda here.

It is of my belief that if jj doesnt win this weekend and at least make the supers, that the coaching overall is a failure

This season would indeed be a colossal failure if we cant get out of our own four team regional. I wouldn't say he is an overall failure if this happened, but it would definitely have him under some intense pressure going into 2024.
