Is this what's going to happen or even a possibility?

LSU demands that any player technically violates an SEC rule without an injunction doesn't get to play and they won't play their two guys?
SEC agrees.
Together they offer the two players and any other players that this agreement captures (including Chambliss) - use of training SEC campus training facilities and a handsome lump sum? One that the SEC essentially offers to pay.
I'd think that solution will be cheaper than if both of these sides keep escalating.

That’s the new rumor going around, it’s 99.9% likely to be horseshite though.
But I hope I’m wrong because I’m here for the crashout.

I would love this for no other reason than the raw and unadulterated hatred that would come pouring out of Oxford…but it doesn’t seem very realistic

Indiana judge just ruled a plethora of Indiana players eligible restoring their status to the day if their last game, including those that were involved with the NFL.

I dont want to get downvoted, because I hate saying this, because I don't agree with it, but we remain the only school that had players sign a "nfl contract."
At the very least, we fight the SEC on that. Change the rule to making a final 53 man roster, and state that if they do sign a contract and later get cut before making the roster, they must pay all contract money back before being eligible.

This would make the SEC look like even bigger clowns than they do now. No way they do this.

Sankey cannot even define what an NFL contract is, so the first statement is dubious at best and the the second statement is an example of how farcical this entire side story is.

How would it be possible to get around the TROs? The courts said they're eligible, so the teams and coaches would have to individually all agree not to play these players while also continuing to let them be on the roster and paying them. There's no way Ole Miss, for example, is going to pay Chambliss $6M to sit on the bench. This isn't a realistic possibility.

Why would the players who already have injunctions to play agree to this?

Settle with the players? Buy them out of their position. They get cash and get use of LSU or whatever school's athletic facilities for what, 6 or 7 months to get ready to go back for one last shot at NFL training camp.

Says who, what constitutes an NFL contract? Because theres lots of paperwork signed even just to try out at a mini camp etc.

Of what relevance is that? What advantage have we gained? All these guys are the same age. Some are better than others and made it a little further in the process. The same relative advantages exist when recruiting high school players.
