3-6 most likely. 1 and 2 rds are for players that teams feel will definitely contribute. With the way his season went this year, you really have to wonder where his head is at, because it didn't look like it was in football. That's too big a risk for the first 2 rounds.

I know, I'm just saying there was bound to be a drop-off somewhere because the amount of guys LSU was putting in the NFL was staggering. I think LSU had 5 more guys drafted than Bama did from 2020-2022.

Roy and Boutte should have come back after subpar year. Both had 1st round talent but decided not to come back and are now 3rd rounders at best.

Miles didn't adjust like Saban when it became apparent that an aggressive high scoring offense was needed to succeed in CFB

Miles would still be there if he got a spread offense. We might have never won another title ether

Does LSU have 3 1st Rounders in next year's draft; Nabers, Smith and Daniels?

Time will tell. As much of a freak as Smith is, he’s still an unknown in the college game. Daniels needs to make some big strides in progressions and his deep ball to get into the 1st round. If Nabers stays on pace from last year, no doubter in my mind. Maybe even top 10.

Yeah a lot of Miles fanboy holdouts that hated O from the start.

Maybe, but Miles was arguably the most successful coach at LSU ever.

It can be frustrating that people feel the need to denigrate one coach in an effort to prop up another. by most of the metrics used to grade coaches' careers, Miles would be the most successful ever at LSU.

A buddy of mine has said (and he is not a Miles fan) that if Saban had been successful in the NFL, Miles would have at least 1 more championship, more likely 2 or 3 more. and that 2011 team ends up being considered one of the greatest teams of all time in college football.

I'm grateful for the success Miles brought LSU. Same with Orgeron. I agree changes were needed with both, and I hope Kelly can win a National Championship like Miles and Orgeron did.

All LSU fans should feel this way. I hope BK can grab multiple NCs. That is not easy to do though. Saban(7), Swinney(2), and Smart(2) are the only ones active in college right now with multiples.

Is it possible that LSU won despite Special Ed?

Obviously it doesn't take NFL talent at every position to win,

I don't think it was this as much as circumstance. I think our NFL guys were all freshman and soph and Kelly did a great job of mixing that with experienced vets who are borderline draftable.

Be careful. The Rant group think will tell you that you can not POSSIBLY love one without hating the other and its impossible to actually find strengths AND weaknesses in all four previous/current coaches.

For the record, I thought all three previous ones were at one point in their career with us, among the best in the business. Same for Kelly in his one year so far. At the same time, I was greatly relieved when both Miles and Orgeron were fired, and also grateful for their time here. Weird, almost like what you see in real life with people.

No. You can not go undefeated for the first time in 40 years and have the best single season of possibly all-time without a solid head coach doing a solid job, much less with one that would otherwise be holding you back.

It is however possible for a coach to be both great and shitty over the course of a year. Them being flawed human beings and all.

Well, we shall disagree. LSU won despite that man being head coach.
