No Vitello for me. We need a coach that will handle the likes of Tennessee, Florida, and Arkansas. These teams will be back to beatable next year when the covid scholarships expire. Gone will all the 5th and 6th year players be. Gimme a coach that has done a lot without the benefit of new stadiums, the mother load of upper class men, and recruiting hot beds.

Can anyone tell me why Tadlock from TTU isn’t mentioned much. If he was I missed it.
I’m completely ignorant on these names, but he seems to have that program humming along.

Tadlock just signed a longterm contract with his alma mater, Texas Tech.

This guy would absolutely dominate at LSU. Everyone else on the list, other than the East Carolina coach, is meh in my opinion.

And where the F are all of these Tom Herman comparisons coming from? That's a lazy analysis and not even close. He reminds me much more of the baseball version of Joe Brady*.
* Note: That is if baseball were to have schemes and plays that required detailed analysis and practiced highly coordinated execution.

Any Herman comparison is ridiculous. It's silly to even compare different sports.
Vitello is in the SEC, the king of college baseball, and finished ahead of Vandy and Florida. He is proving it among the best baseball there is. He even took his team to the SEC Tourney championship.
When he took over Tenn, they had just won 7 conference games the season prior?
Not every young promising guy is Herman. Herman is his own weirdo. Texas is their own thing. This is LSU baseball. I think they can have success with any of the candidates mentioned. I just prefer Vitello, because what he has done is so impressive and he is young. McDonnell and Vitello are my top 2.
I remember several LSU fans being excited about Joe Brady. He barely had any experience, but you could just tell he was sharp. I think it is okay to be excited about young promising coaches.
Again though, this is baseball. Evaluate and get great talent. Then construct your roster accordingly.

If Beck gets a medical redshirt won’t it be a little weird having a player older than the head coach?
