There's a higher chance of Livvy Dunne inviting any one of us to be a guest on Baywatch where we play the role of her long lost lover who returns, striking up a hot and heavy romance with her, complete with a sex scene inside one of the lifeguard towers at midnight then we get caught in a reef while diving for very valuable native sea urchins that are prohibited from being taken out of the waters of California and she has to be the one to make the rescue, leading to the final once and for all goodbye.

If they did, it would be because of the name LSU and for that reason only. LSU needs to make the SEC tournament championship game at minimum even with a series win over UF and probably still needs to win the championship.

I don't believe any LSU fan would say this.

Besides winning the SECT

No

I think losing in the SECT final even after sweeping Florida still isn’t enough.

If we win the series vs Florida, and win 2 more in Hoover, which is the scenario asked by the OP, there is a reasonable chance we get in. 50/50 or better, I would say.

Is it likely we win 5 games in a row? Not so much.

I would consider us fortunate to win 1 out of 3 the way we played last weekend.

No. Just no. This Florida series doesn’t matter at all, except maybe psychologically. Win all 3 games 15-0. Lose all 3 games 15-0. Doesn’t matter. Our only chance is to win the SECT.

My opinion is based on what our likely RPI would be and history. 2021 Alabama was 12-17 (we would be 12-18), and 32–26 overall (we would be 32-24) and won 2 games in the SECT.

I assume yours is based on your feelings?

Using the “old as hell” cliché: two chances: slim and none. Slim has already left the room.

Besides winning the SECT, is there a world we could get into a regional? They say the magic number is 13-14 wins. If we win the series vs Florida, and win 2 more in Hoover, is there a possibility of getting a 3 seed in someone’s regional?

You got a better shot of being the Vice-President for Kamala Harris than them making a regional.

No, it’s not. It’s based on a historical outlier. History shows that almost all 12-18 teams get left out.

A LOT has changed in the past 5 years in college baseball. If your argument hinges on a historical outlier from 2021, then it’s not a very strong argument.

Oh, the irony.

I’m not bailing on the season, though. I’ll watch all 3 games this weekend and root like hell for us in Hoover until the final out. So let’s not do this. We’re on the same team. Geaux Tigers.

My argument is it is a possibility, particularly taking into account it’s a defending national championship. But I am not saying it is likely, I do think a sweep and 3 wins would make it likely. Now don’t shatter my hope here

We’re headed to the box right now.

You either have it or you don't. This team doesn't have IT. No big deal. Focus on next year.
