Was skeptical when they hired a a guy that was forced into retirement at a point where he couldn't even turn his neck and had an anxiety twitch.... but do you USC...this season has shown what a rebuild the USC job is... does the sports admin think a pa-paw is up to it? Or do you realize you wrote a blank check for nothing?

That said... I have very fond feeling for Pawl...but man.. it's time

Why on earth you would pay Ray Tanner to do anything but coach baseball, I'll never understand.

I think he goes one more year and then they amicably part ways.

He’s done. Pathetic support for a once proud program.

He’s going to try relying on Terry Rooney to navigate NIL and recruit the transfer portal.

I doubt it. His first years everywhere he's been have been bad. If you bring him in and don't give him at least 2 years, you didn't do your homework.

Paul looked miserable after they beat us on Thursday. Wasn't smiling or anything. Not sure if his heart isn't in it, or if he's just in physical pain again. I wouldn't be shocked to see him leave and come back to Baton Rouge.

Felt like after winning the first game he was on cloud nine and coasted the rest of the weekend.

Not this bad. He was 12-17-1 his first year here. USC was a NCAAT team last year. There’s no excuse to go 6-24 in the SEC at a program like USC. Paul isn’t built for the portal and NIL at this point. He wasn’t doing any recruiting at the end of his run here when he didn’t have to deal with all of that. He’s in over his head and I’m sure deep down he knows it too

No, he stays. He has 4 freshmen that could start for any SEC team. Another recruiting class and some portal success and they’re a contender.

USC was a very difficult draw for LSU to finish the season on the road. Without our two aces and the A game at the plate we were likely to be disappointed.

Cudos to CJJ and CPM for a very competitive series.

His overall record was almost identical. It's what he does. He needs heat to get serious.

He didn’t develop them

PM inherited nothing. They need to see his portal performance

He’s 67 years old. He had heat his last year here and was one of the last 4 teams in the NCAAT. Paul is washed. They never should have hired him

And again, recruiting was worlds different in 2007 than it is now. You don’t have time to build a program. Everyone has to rebuild every year with the portal now. You can’t just sign a bunch of freshman and develop them. You have to also fill needs through the portal and deal with players leaving for other programs.

Didn’t we do the same with Skip….hired Les Miles, Smoke, Manieri, Van Chancellor and lost Pat Henry being cheap.

HOF coach, not so special as AD.
