maybe. We'll see. I'm starting to have some doubts though.

it's going to far exceed the current situation. We're finally going to have a real indoor facility. I can assure you that it will be at the level of or above that of other SEC schools (which is traditionally even better in tennis as a conference than football)
also, did you know: LSU was one of the first SEC schools (perhaps the first) to have an indoor tennis facility, the Maddox Fieldhouse. It obviously cannot be used for tennis any longer.
this project will improve a program that has overachieved for several years given the lack of comparable facilities, and could help the tennis programs contribute from a revenue standpoint.

no one is arguing that. completely different discussion.

No i didnt know that. But what does that have to do with the current building being built?

Not arguing that either.

that looks to be the indoor facility....does anyone know how many indoor courts they plan on having there?
Posted on 10/16/14 at 9:04 am to bbap
my point is that you're bitching about something that, frankly, isn't an issue, isn't worth bitching about, and you're drawing your conclusion based upon a project that's about 1/3 of the way through.
relax, bro. It will look great once it's done. If you walked along side of football's indoor practice facility, it doesn't look overwhelming either. The front looks good (perhaps not great), but inside is where the magic is.

Do you even care about the tennis program or you just want something to bitch about?
Doesn't matter. Just sad that LSU is willing to throw up a metal building and not willing to try and be the best and have the best.

i disagree about it not worth being brought up. the fact that is is 1/3 of the way through is the exact reason i ASKED if that would be the final exterior.

that's my exact point. that was built over a decade ago though (hell is that thing over 20 years now..i think it is). it should in no way be a template to be used again.

That picture in the OP is of the backside, it will not all look like that.
So no, it will not be one giant shed.

Jesus, people. He's asking a simple question. Is this the final look?
If not, cool. Goose posted the final project, but we know those often change.
If so, yes, I think it's fair to gripe b/c it would look like crap on a piece of real estate that's worth a ton to LSU.

im holding out hope they will put some type of facade over that 1980s siding but it sure seems like that's what they're going with.

for what it's worth, from the rendering, it looks like they plan to build up some material on the exterior of the indoor facility. I don't know what: stained concrete, stucco??
Posted on 10/16/14 at 9:11 am to ell_13
I just find it funny that people bitch about materials used for interior support structures without knowing what type of facade will be built.
Posted on 10/16/14 at 9:12 am to bbap
It's just the main structure. Jeez guise

i specifically asked what type of facade will be used. its like you didnt even read the thread.
and based on the artist renderings my fears have not been alleviated.
