This is easily the most optimistic I've been in 5-6 years. The last few years, I haven't let myself get too hyped before this game. I've kept my hope in check, but this year is different. Joe Burrow has me believing we can win this game. This entire team and what they've accomplished just has me believing this year is different. Is everyone feeling this way?

I think what we’ve done so far this season despite what the naysayers in the media think has me the most confident.

I also think that this is the best matchup against a Bama team that we’ve had in nearly a decade. Their D isn’t what it usually is, and their strength on O plays right into our strength on D.

This is the least optimistic I have been. LSU should have won in 2012 and 2014. 2013 got away from us with a porous defensive effort and costly mistakes.

I 100% expect this to be the game that fully revives LSU football.

You’re right, and Chavis with a lead late/3rd and Chavis killed us.
Aranda is a different animal.

Sadly no. Who on this team would start on say 2012! Or 14. This is the least optimistic I’ve been.
Joe is a 50% passer with 6 tds and 3 picks. Where’s the optimism coming from?

This has to be the correct answer. This doesn't mean LSU hasn't been successful, though, and 10-2 with a Sugar Bowl is very at hand. Not a damn person would not say that wouldn't have been a win pre-season. But, NO TEAM in the county would be within 10 points on BAMA in Vegas on their home field. LSU does not match their talent.

LSU can only win if they win turnovers by AT LEAST 2 and they must dominate the redzone. Score TDs and force FGs.

No, unfortunately not. This Bama Team is so good it’s unfair. Now we have taken a step up, but they have taken a couple more steps up.

I love our grit, guts, toughness etc. but our 12,14 teams were loaded. But God I love these kids.

It's just time....

From the White suspension, Bama's video game offensive numbers, it all just sets up for a hell of a storyline.

The numbers don't tell the whole story on Joe. He's a gamer. LSU has the talent where it counts on defense.

The offense is as healthy as it's been all season. The players believe that they will win. I feel good about LSU'S chances.

Our d line is average and white is out a half.
How many sacks has our d line gotten this year?
I love joe also, but 1/2 his passes are incomplete

The Dline is a lot better than average. Aranda has a surprise at White's position. Some of those passes are dropped by receivers they need to get that fixed. Others are throwaways. A few have been off. Definitely an area that needs work. The good news is it doesn't faze Joe because he's a gamer. It's on Saturday.

I remember seeing a clearly outmatched Louisville beat a very good Florida state team several years ago.

Will they be fixed?
Throwaways because he is running for his life.

I’m not optimistic because the offense just isn’t good enough YET.
The defense will do its job but if we are going 3 and out from our own 25 consistently the defense won’t be able to hold for the whole game.
The offense needs to have sustained drives, some big plays and no mistakes for us to win. I haven’t seen this yet.

And the “it’s time” argument is just plain silly.

LSU thinks that it can run the ball on bama and for what it's worth so do I. Bama's secondary is not as good as usual and believe it or not their depth isn't that great either. Especially along the defensive line. Burrow could actually have a big night.

Has burrow ever had a big night?
You think we have more talent than 12 or 14? Lol
