First of all, our DLine is proven, what has FL Sts DL proven?

Florida State's D-line is proven. They allowed 2.3 yards per rush last season, which was best in the country. FSU's may be better, but not by much.

He said easily better than Alabama and LSU. Is actually what he said. Wasn't Pollack on the 2003 Georgia team that got waxed in the SEC Championship game?

What does Pollack losing in a SECCG 9 years ago have anything to do with this discussion?

Honestly, I think our 2nd unit is maybe top ten. Our d-line is stacked. This might be the best d-line we've ever had, and that's saying something.

Yeah. If you told me a few years ago that Josh Downs would be almost an afterthought in the DL rotation his senior year I would have figured you to be a lunatic.

Blowhards on here can't bear that LSU be anything but the best in everything. I bring it here trying to be open minded and try not to be a homer; I get a few quality responses and an equal amount of "Pollack hates LSU, ESPN hates LSU" type comments

Pollack is fine and people can have differing opinions on who the best DL is pre-season. One poster got it right when he said there are 3 teams in contention; which one is best may not be seen for a few weeks of the season.

Hopefully it is us

Anyone who follows college football knows FSU's DL is legit. IMO they have the best combination of experience and youth, the DL class they just signed is plain sick.

FSU's Whole Defense is legit. They allowed 83 yards rushing per game last season, and allowed 192 yards passing per game last season. Mark Stoops has done wonders with that defense.

Passing D

Rushing

I wouldn't trade our D, but to say there are other defenses not in the discussion is just plain stupid.

Yes, yes they are the best in the nation. And quite honestly I don't see anyone that even competes with our talent on the d-line.

frickING THIS!!! Not saying they aren't talented, but what kind of O Lines and RBs are really in the ACC. You have to take into consideration LSU played probably the single toughest schedule in College football history!

we were better against the pass in yards per game and only 7 yards worse than them against the run with a WAY more difficult schedule

Lets allow them to play the season; this may or may not be correct.

That was a sarcastic post. There's always people living in the past that make a reference to the 03 team.

We are obviously top 5. Phil Steele also picked FSU as the best, because of Jenkins and Werner. I'm sure they are very good but they aren't as deep as us (although they have some talented true freshmen).

Other lines that will be very good include South Carolina and Texas.

Pollack may not like LSU, but him and palmer were pumping our d all last year. Im sure they will do the same this year.

It's intellectually dishonest to say that either is "by far" better than the other. It's obviously an entertainment trick.

We can probably rattle off the top 5-10 defensive lines in college football (which I think someone already kinda did in this thread, ) and agree that they are all very talented.

But it's hard to definitively say that FSU or Texas' DL isn't as good just because they play inferior teams. Stats won't tell the whole story without context.

I've watched both FSU and LSU play for years, and I haven't seen many lines that could rival either of these '12 squads.

I'd like to see how Ego and Freak have developed this year, but if you made me have to pick one or the other... I'd have to take LSU's due to the elite depth. That's really what has set LSU apart from the competition these last few years.

You came to the rant expecting people to not have their P&G glasses on?

LSU has a great D-line, so does FSU, so does Texas, so does OSU. I'd take OSU's against anyone but I have my OSU glasses on
