Is the home team for tonight’s game determined by a coin flip?

Both LSU and OSU were home teams last night based on seeding. It seems I remember…but not sure…. that home teams are determined by a coin flip if both teams have been home an equal number of times after the first round,

No it’s LSU. It’s at LSU…think about it we’re also highway seed.

Coin toss comes into play later

ETA: damn Latta hate!

It used to be... but I believe that was changed for this year. If both teams have been home the same number of times, the higher seed is now the home team.

That’s not always the case in the NCAA tournament.

Get outta here with that common sense.

This is the NCAA we’re talking about here

We're the home team tonight, but that's not why we're the home team.

Just because it's in LSU, doesn't mean we're the home team every game.

I believe the only rule that changed is if both teams have been the home team the same number of times the higher seed is the home team. It used to be a coin toss.

Exact rules. Basically, the "how many times have you been home/visitor before" rules still apply, but if that's tied, it goes to the higher seed now, instead of a coin flip like it used to.

Thanks Cheer….I thought it was by coin flip in the past but hadn’t heard the rules were changed starting this year. I think it’s a good rule change….higher seeded team should be rewarded.

I bet you do, Boat, so thanks for that. We'll see this question a bunch this weekend, so it's good to be prepared.

Here’s the rules for the supers. Same as they’ve been except now the better national seed is home for game 3 instead of a coin toss.

These rule changes make so much sense. If you're hosting a Super as the better seed and play 3 games, why should the other team be home for 2 of them because they won a coin flip?

Honestly I’d like to see them go further. Higher seed should be the home team in every game.

That’s what Kendall Rogers said before the season and got everyone worked up but he was more mistaken than how bad his Round Rock stream was.

100% agree, even though I see why mid-majors and smaller schools would disagree.
