Because Indiana was away for the first game, and Kentucky was home. That rule still applies, the higher seed only comes into play as a tiebreaker.

The rules changed this year. It’s the higher seed as the home team no matter what.

The NCAA announced that the home team in every level of the postseason will now be the higher-seeded team
