80% of LSU fans had never heard of a passing game coordinator until Brady.

They made up the position for Brady, there wasn’t a passing game coordinator before him

Jerry Sullivan had the same title as Brady in 2018

Jerry Sullivan, LSU's senior offensive assistant and passing game coordinator, retired Wednesday, the athletic department announced.

Sullivan, 74, took on his role in coach Ed Orgeron's staff this season after serving as a consultant the previous year. He spent seven years with the Tigers from 1984-90 and also coached in the NFL for 25 years before his return to Baton Rouge in 2017.

Sullivan may have had the title, but Brady will go down as the first passing game coordinator with a reason to be remembered. The passing game was so awful before Brady, past coaches don’t deserve to be accredited with having had that title at LSU. Clearly not much passing took place prior to Brady.

Nah, man it’s been around. First time I think I remember seeing it was when Miles brought Billy Gonzalez on as wr coach and passing game coordinator in 2009 or so

Miles employed a Passinf Game Coordinator too. Todd Monken was WR coach/PGC 2006, and later on Billy Gonzalez held the same title.

Passing Game Coordinators have been around for 30 plus years.

LSU has had a few, but not continuously.

Ensminger was the passing game coordinator at Georgia in the early 90s with Eric Zeier.

Shane Waldron is the front-runner now. He's with the LA Rams with the same title.
