Your criteria was about development. Both were abysmal as freshmen and serviceable as seniors.

Or we wouldn't have gone undefeated without JL starting the season against Oregon, and his management of the offense leading them to number one.
I don't think with JJ they would have been undefeated going into that game with Bama.
And in that game with Eric Reid making the play of the decade. But according to JJ in the after game interview, he said he put the team on his back and led them to victory. I remember looking at my husband saying huh? What? Did he really say that? Nothing about defense, Reid, special teams at all.
Okay Foster missed 4 field goals, and Alleman made 3 but he put the team on his back? uh no.

maintain?

Yeah once you start maintaining you are already behind.
So no to the question.

If Chavis takes the A&M Job everyone will find out how incompetent MILES is. With HIs 2009-2010 offense that ranked 107th/HIS 2010-2011 rank of 83rd his2012-2013 rank of 84th his 2013-2014 rank 88th//// Chavis has been carrying this team for years and Untill Miles is held accountable for this horrible performance instead of getting pay raises off Chavis work, Nothing will change

No. I really don't know how to judge him as a coach. I feel that all of his success is due to hi recieving the LSU job. If you compare his first 3 years to any other stretch in his stay it's not even close. 11-2, 11-2, & 12-2. If that doesn't let you know of the decline nothing will.

He's his own worst enemy. The ghosts of 2008 haunt him now still and he's a worse coach because of it.

agreed, although i will say that he tends to gamble more with a stout D and a halfway competent O.
2007 he "gambled" on all those 4th and shorts with hester bc with that O line and hester, it wasn't really a gamble.

If anything, he now is in a position of maintaining and building over several years, instead of just going game-to-game.

That was his position from the day that he was hired. They didn't hire him to turn the program around but to stay at the top of the SEC. The problem is that he hasn't been able to build or eep up with the rest of the West. The progam has actually been going down since 1/9/2012.

11-2, 13-1, 10-3. Looks like years 6, 7 & 8 are pretty much equal to 1, 2, & 3. And it's about to be 10 wins and 9 wins since then. Yeah that's falling off a cliff, that is.

We don't go undefeated with only JJ or JL IMO. But yeah. .. the "carrying the team" comment still pisses me off.

I'd rather lose games with lesticles than lose games with castraticles anyway. I miss the les that went for it all.

You couldn't be more spot on. Take a few more risk now and then, see what happens.
