I just think you are going to see both possibly equally.

He finished the game after he got hurt.

You can’t really separate yourself from the rest in a way worth discussing unless you’re in the lead.

There are sources within LSU saying this too.

Link?

I'll bet there are "sources at LSU" saying it will be Nussmeier too. LOL

I’m not going to invest the 5 seconds it takes to skip the YouTube ad to see wtf you are talking about.

People are giving up on Brennan to quick. Dude was not the problem last year. I would be surprised if they go with a sophomore over a senior.

I think the is still Miles Brennan's team until next year. Max has plenty of time to "show his stuff" in 2022, then comes in Nuss 2023. Howard 2024.

Sorry but a True sophomore isn't going to beat out a 5th year player in the film room.

Because Myles and Nuss aint sticking around for the next 2 to 4 years

What?? You do realize that Nuss is a true freshman that hasn’t even run out of the stadium tunnel on to the field as a player yet, right?

The only way Nuss transfers is if after year 2, when Max has left early for the NFL, and Walker Howard potentially beats him out for the job. Then and only then is Nuss leaving.

He only threw for about a million yards after he got hurt in that game.

Sick of people badmouthing Myles like he couldn’t start and go out there and win 10-11 ballgames. He was the only part of the entire team last year that didn’t suck arse before he got hurt.

ETA: and this isn’t shitting on Max Johnson either. I believe he could also go out there and 10-11 ballgames as well. You people have extreme amnesia though with one when it comes to our two quarterbacks that have a realistic shot at starting.

You guys who always stick up for Myles crack me up. He is exactly why we went 1-2 versus SEC bottom feeders. If he was even decent on 3rd down and in the red zone the defense would have never even been on the field. The best defense is a great offense.

This dude knows NOTHING about the locker room of LSU, just as none of us knows NOTHING about the locker room, hell we still don’t know what happened with Gilbert within the locker room.

This is unhinged, Max starting benefits Nuss because he can get on the field sooner. As Myles still has 2 years of eligibility.

Not to mention that Myles isn't going to transfer until after this season because by the time he figures out that he won't be the starter, it will be far too late for him to transfer and learn a new offense before the season starts.

He may transfer for his final year of eligibility as soon as the season is over though, but that's his perogative

Nonetheless, to base a starting position not on who is the best QB but on who may or may not transfer is what coaches who don't like their jobs do.

Max Johnson will inevitably win the starting job for LSU in 2021 because he gives LSU's offense another new dimension that is completely absent under Myles Brennan. As Johnson is far harder to defend against relative to Brennan. As Brennan is no threat to run and Johnson is. Which also makes the running and passing games flow better as well.

Brennan has a good arm in the pocket as long as he isn't pressured, but if he is under pressure and forced to leave the pocket, he rarely completes a pass. Brennan was also horrible in third and fourth down situations last season and in the redzone he also sucked pretty damn bad.

Johnson, on the other hand, was far better than Brennan in third and fourth down situations and inside the redzone. Plus Johnson is astronomically far better than Brennan at extending plays for positive yards.

In other words, Johnson's tool box is far superior to Brennan's tool box and that's why Johnson will be the inevitable starter for LSU in 2021.
