Is Maryland the least bit interested in Les?

I’ve read several times on here Les would be a good fit for Maryland because of the dysfunctional situation over there and they need kinda like a father figure right now. Is there any way this is even a possibility or is it just people speculating? Would be pretty funny to see Les and Canada dominate.

What about all of the offers from top-notch programs that I was told that Les would get? TRant told me that his phone would be ringing off the hook for a high profile job after his firing.

So no one wanted O for a job while he was doing the local talk radio circuit in Lafourche in 2014 before Miles plucked him off the trash heap?

I certainly don't think Maryland football should be above hiring him. Not sure if Les would want to go against Michigan every year.

If the Colorado job comes open, I could see there being some mutual interest there.

Mike locksley to Maryland is all but a done deal. He's a great coach and has earned it.

Richrod joins the staff in January.

Maryland ain’t dominating a damn thing. Unless they move to the American conference. then they’d be like UCF.

Think Miles would like the grass there?

Literally no one said this because he is 65. He would be the oldest p5 coach hired in over a decade.
No one thought he would get a top notch job.the average age of a p5 coach is 44.

You can’t have people saying he was an amazing coach who shouldn’t have been fired and also say everyone knew no one would hire him. Just admit he had a good few years but his stubbornness killed the program his last 4 years. He’s still a nice guy but you people canonize him.

The program wasn’t fricking killed

His last 4 years were 10-3 10-3 8-5 9-3

No melt down

No horrific season.

Just not good enough. He never bottomed out he just plateaued at a level we didn’t want to be at.

But it was still a better level than most of our history and most school in the country.

We just have high expectations.

I hate this misconception. It ignores half the equation.

Miles was a great guy and coach and had an amazing run

A change was clearly needed as he failed to adopt a new offense. He needed to be fired. There’s not many who will disagree with that

BUT

Once you make that decision, you are saying “we are better than 8-5,9-3,10-2. We need to be better than that so we are making a change” and they also added the caveat that nothing was innately wrong with the program so we should be able to simply replace the HC and watch us fly into playoff contention

So when the result of that turns into a career disaster at HC, whose early results are extremely similar to what we had during the tail end of the miles era, while we are paying miles to sit at home for doing so, human nature will make you wonder, “well frick if nothing has changed then why did we make a change in the first place”. Especially while the program continues to change the goal posts to say that now the job requires a rebuild and miles left the cupboard bare etc etc etc to protest the current regime it makes your blood boil.

Y'all are some dumb motherfrickers if you don't think schools have contacted George Bass about Les.

What? Since he was hired, we are still the only program to not have won less than 8 games.

Think about that. Every other school has had a worse season than Les' worst. Every single one.

last 3+ years, Les went 15-11 in the SEC (10-10 against the West).

Overall win totals, padded by OOC cupcakes and weaker SEC teams, don't mean much to me when our goal is championships.

2013-2015 isnprobably the best our division has ever been though.

Miss St was st an all time high those 2 years with Dak
Ole Miss was at an all time high with Bo Wallace and Chad Kelly. Beat Bama twice
Auburn played for a NC
Alabama won a NC and made the playoffs
Arkansas wasn’t amazing but they were 2-10 bad.
Texas A&M wasn’t great but if 8-5 7-6 teams are the BOTTOM of the league you’re pretty tough.

There were years that 6/7 teams were ranked.
