No poindexter.....we've actually regressed and should be schitty at every position with an underachieving offense, a fked up D, terrible special teams, and lousy coaching.
I feel safe in saying, we will be lucky to win one game.

We actually have a good DC again. That in itself is a huge change from last year with Steele's terrible scheme. That defense arguably worse than Malveto and what's bad about that is we didn't exactly lack talent. That Malveto team had serious talent issues due to a few recruiting classes screwing us over.

There were multiple soph qb's around the country in major conferences who played very well and carried their offenses.
He was young. He was a true sophomore who had very little game experience. I don't point that out to excuse his performance. I point it out to show the difference between where we were heading into last year vs. this year.

The experience will be big. I expect the defense to be much better, top 5-10 in the country honestly. And the offense is basically all returning starters, particularly skill positions with some new talent mixed in as well. Fournette will be a top Heisman contender obviously.
As usual, it'll come down to QB play. With the team around him, Harris doesn't have to be all world. Just a veteran game manager role would be more than enough. If he's a top 3 SEC guy we're looking at a special season

So the most successful coach in LSU history?
If we're only comparing him to other LSU coaches, sure. The problem people have is that the most successful in LSU history doesn't really do him any favors on the current national landscape. "Most successful in LSU history" doesn't matter if he's not winning significant games in November. If he goes 6-6 for the next 10 years he'll still be the most successful in LSU history.

Why would you not compare him to other lsu coaches? The poster said that Miles is the reason we wont be successful.

Why do you say that? Multiple national cfb polls, this offseason, has him ranked as a top 10 coach.
Also, lsu is a bordeline top 10 alltime program. If being the most successful coach,at a top 10 alltime program doesnt do him favors on a nation landscape, then the landscape is dumb.

No he wont. His win % will not be the best in lsu history and he wont have the 7th best win % in sec history.

Go back the last few years and compare the number of senior starters we have compared to our opponents in every game... It's fricking unbelievable, and actually makes what we've done look impressive, even though most would call it mediocre for our standards.
Not losing every eligible junior to the draft is going to be one of the biggest advantages we have this year. Not only in experience, but leadership. That shite goes a long way

You saying the landscape is dumb is typical of you. I guess every sportscaster and expert should just quit and they should all go by what you say.

No you are NOT. 4 losses this season

IF ,you idiot.
Yes.IF being the most successful coach ever at a top 10 alltime program doesnt garner respect ( it does because multiple sports sites have Miles as a top 10 cfb coach) then the landscape is dumb.
Why do you do that? You take someone's post and act like it means something totally different.
You better be glad that breathing is an involuntary process because there is no way you are smart enough to breathe on your own.

he barely survived. he was running for his friggin' life on almost every play. sure, he escaped a lot but we crushed them.

People act like they don't understand the difference between a freshman or sophomore 1st year starter and a senior 1st year starter. When Alabama won the national championship in the 2011 season, the huge difference between Harris and McCarron (redshirt sophomore) statistically, was a much higher completion %.
I'm not saying Harris didn't have his problems, but again as I repeat that, go and watch last year to see just how poor the pass catchers were. With a young QB you need competent receivers. We haven't had those since Jarvis and Odell. None of them have compared to the consistency that Amari Cooper did as a freshman for that 2011 team. Watch Dak Prescott as a redshirt sophomore, Brandon Allen as a redshirt sophomore, and Zach Mett as a redshirt junior (1st year starter), and come tell me that experience both in the QB and receivers doesn't greatly improve the offense in the SEC.
Statistically it is more likely a 2nd year starting QB in the SEC will be much better than the same or worse. Usually there is a particular reason that doesn't have much to do with his ability if he doesn't improve at all.

This.
I hope BH is better and more mature...he should be.
This season hangs on QB play and LM willingness to go away from wanting to hand the ball to the tailback 72 out of 73 plays.
