Helmet to helmet and they didn't call it. Great hit though.
Wasn't really a far cry from Landry's hit on Tuitama was it?

that isnt the hardest hit we put on state. I wish i could find it online but in 05 we killed back. i think it was hollis that laid wood into the back so hard that he knocked him and jessie daniels out and the backs helmet went flying.

they had a video of our d from the zona game. they brought some hits that day.

also in the early 2000's there was a special teams player named ryan oneal he would just destroy returners.

he was good for a knockout hit every game and usually a personal foul for celebration.

id rather the refs not call it then them over call shite when it even comes close to looking like helmet to helmet.

the only time that should be called is when a player was defenseless and the other player clearly did it on purpose.

nothing wrong with a lil head hunting

If I'm not mistaken, one of the new CF rules this year will be cracking down (no pun) on helmet to helmet hits.

which i dont like as the already hyper sensative sec refs call stuff helmet to helmet that is clearly not helmet to helmet.

I know the hit you are talking about. I was at the game, and part of the helmet(i think it as a chin strap clip or something) flies up in the air, no exaggeration, 25ft! I have never seen a piece of a helmet go straight up in the air before, but it was the hardest hit I've ever seen with my own eyes... And I've only missed about 6 games home and away since the 2001 season.

IMO, i think we lost some of our edge. we hit like fricking feight trains in 2006. not so in 2007. just look at the UK game. we looked soft in that game, imho.
