Mock draft experts think so as they consistently have Pitts coming off the board before Chase. Different position? only slightly. They say Pitts is a TE, H-back, WR, however you want to use him. I just don't see it and think whoever is looking for the top receiver is this draft and takes Pitts ahead of Chase is going to regret it. HOw do you see it? Who do think is going to be the bigger time playmaker in the NFL?

Chase is the better WR and will produce more.

Pitts creates matchup problems for defenses.

He could be

He’s similar to Calvin Johnson in measurables, just not as fast

If Pitts lands at an A+ offensive spot and Chase lands in a black hole, you can make a case for him

Pitts will be a fine receiver in the NFL

Pitts is a better prospect because he’s elite at a position where there are so few elite players. He will be a top 5 TE immediately and will cause matchup problems for defenses

The drop off from TE1 to 2 is huge compared to WR

you could reverse that statement as well, wouldn't mean one was a better player than the other, just that one wound up in a better situation. They are enamored with the size of Pitts and match up problems he could bring, but from proven production, Chase has it all over Pitts (I know they don't draft of of college production). Chase, to me (maybe it is purple and gold glasses) has to be one of the bigger big time WR prospects to come out of college in a long time. At least the mock drafters have seemed to move on from putting Devonta Smith or Waddle ahead of Chase.

Who is throwing passes to each of them? That matters alot.

If you want offensive production, you go with Chase.

In 1 year at LSU (2019), Chase had more yards, touchdowns and nearly the same amount of receptions than Pitts had in his entire 3 year Florida career.

He looks to thin to really be used as a TE. Looks more like a tall and fast 245lb WR. Cant see him blocking any NFL player very well. He will have to be used like a WR in the pros even if he will at times line up in close in a traditional TE spot.

I guess I stated the question wrong. Should have said who will be the better NFL player, not who will have more big time plays because of being in a better system or situation. I think Chase will be the better NFL player on teams with equal QB's and equal systems, coaches and teams.

Pitts is unreal but so is Chase. Chase will likely put up better numbers, but won't bring as much to an offense as a phenom like Pitts will just due to his positional versatility.

I don't consider Pitts a TE. He's a wide receiver with the physical profile to play TE. Looks like Michael Thomas when he's running slants and can box out just about anybody for a ball.

Chase is mean though and so strong. Testing off the charts.

Speaking in absolutes, especially for a position as wishy/washy as TE, is funny. Athleticism and measureables don’t count for everything

So much goes into a TE being elite.

Do people really consider him a TE? I could be wrong but I can’t remember ever seeing him line up on the line let alone block DLmen.

I feel like he’s a big WR.

Depends what teams they get. A shitty team can really slow a career.
