Considering that his image was shite anyway to most fans I would say yes.

I have never understood the animocity our fanbase has heaped on JJ. The coaching staff makes the decision of who should start. JJ is their #1 qb. JL has not won the job from JJ. I guess he is suppose to quit or tell coach he doesn' want to play to appease his haters.

JJ deserves as much respect from the fans that the fans give JL for "sticking it out". He has been ridiculed for 2 years by his own fans. Quite pathetic.

Just 75%? I'd put it a good bit higher.

I realize the man is a buffoon and better suited to host a cooking show. But Buddy said JJ hasn't apologized to anyone, not even his team mates. Anyone else heard this?

That's pretty shitty if true. I hope it isn't but I could see JJ put on his pouty pass the blame face when asked to apologize.

He's somehow different from JL, though. Different in a way I can't quite describe, that's in some way important to a large contingent of our fanbase.

Who cares about image? Cam Newton surely didn't when he took 200 G's won the SEC, National, and Heisman, and got selected #1 overall think he really gave 2 shits about his image?

1. JJ is no Cam Newton. Characterwise, that may be a good thing.

2. As I've stated before, I'd still like to believe we're not Auburn.

Im pretty sure last seasons play is the main reason JJ has been ridiculed by fans.
Throw in the things he is on record as saying about his play... and well there you have it.

The fact that he has been the starter for 2 years and absolutely sucked as a QB the majority of the time?

And obviously, the "sticking it out" part for JL is that he stayed while not playing for those 2 years. It wouldn't make any sense to give JJ credit for "sticking it out" unless you mean for sticking with football even though he was playing so poorly.

Don't let your ideas about other people's racism cloud your own perception of the situation.

If he proves he isn't one of the worst QB's in the nation than he can improve his image in my eyes. The fight was just one ordeal as far as trouble goes, and we still don't really know exactly what happened.

No, not no matter what. If he's cleared of wrong doing and goes on to have a monster season I'm sure his lasting image will be one of overcoming adversity and weak sophomore and junior years.

But if he turns in another season like the last two I don't think there is anything to salvage as far as his image goes. This would just be one more blemish on his record.

This should help his image IMO.

thinking JJ is not a real good QB does not = "hating" him.

JJ hasn't played well.
JLee plays worse.

Not that complicated. There is no way to justify what has amounted to a sustained compaign to get him "his chance" to start when he's been here for four goddamn years and has played behind JJ for almost three. Again, this was through two (now three) OCs and a new QB coach.

JJ starts because he is the better college quarterback. Don't overthink this.

JJ holding the crystal ball in the air at the end of the season is the only image that will matter.

What the frick are you laughing about. The proof is in the pudding. Even after this frickup, Lee probably still won't start. I'm not trying to smack the kid down, but there's a reason he's second string.
