The Heisman is now the award for the best QB on a playoff team. They need to start making the Davey O'Brien award a bigger deal, then make a concerted effort to look past QBs when deciding on Heisman winners, because it's gotten silly at this point. Mathieu should have won it in 2011, and it's a crime he didn't even make the top 3.

I am curious about this issue. I thought it was clearly a helmet to helmet hit on our first drive when JD fumbled. Can you explain why that was not a penalty?

If he keeps up the current performance he'll be in the race. But it's obvious that it's a 2 man race between Penix and Williams. It's as much a popularity contest or best player on the best team award as it is performance based.

If he keeps up what he’s doing he’ll be in NYC. If he found a way to get it to Hilton a little sooner or Hilton could hang on and we won that game he’d be at number 2 right now.

Go ask Patrick Mahomes. Nobody gets penalized but your stats and performance gets lost when your team is average.
