It seems to me blow outs can mask weaknesses far more than hard fought wins. I'm reading a lot of pundits who say that LSU fans should be worried that we dominated but were only up by 3 with 6 mins to go. I think these types of wins both demonstrate the character of your team and build character. Just when it seemed all was going against us and the TCU fans were rejuvenated, OBJ and Jarvis combined to suck the life right out of them. That tells me a lot more about this team than if we hadn't given TCU 2 TDs and were up by 27 with 6 mins left.

Just sayin.

Well I highly doubt we fumble on our own 3 again of give up another KO. We will be fine.

It helps with media perception

Close games are good for your team though

blowouts at times are more fun to watch but more often than not, they're boring. I will not lie though, absolutely crushing Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss in 2011 were the most fun blowouts that I've ever been a part of, but I'd rather just flat out win the game.

Domination isn't always reflective in the score board... Alabama last year is a good example, especially in the second half.

But if we execute completely, we should win over 90% of our games...and that is reflective in the scoreboard.

A one point win counts exactly the same as a 35 point victory. I don't think Miles enjoys embarrassing lesser opponents.

The only concern is that it seems to be a habit for Lsu teams to beat an opponent but never really put them away. Always keeping it close til the end. It's nice to be able to pull out wins but the fear is getting beat at the end in a game you should clearly win like Clemson last year.

I'm only comfortable watching a game when we're up 2 scores.
So yes, it is important-for my sanity.

Yes because perception is reality when you're dealing with polls that are manipulated by humans.

If you're playing Ohio State's schedule its crucial. Against an SEC schedule, not so much.

Blowouts help build depth. More kids get to play.

Bottom line is we need to better execute.

FIFY

The pirogue alumni demand that LSU win big every time so they can feel good about themselves.

It's not about "blowing people out", it's about putting a team away that you dominated all game and not giving them a chance to sneak out with a win late because you failed to do so.

No its not. Just look good winning by 10 points or s. Now should LSU beat UAB by 35? sure, But give me a good 17 point arse whipping and look effective doing it will be fine with me.

Agree +100. That's 14 points right there. Otherwise, TCU may have only scored 13 to 16
points in the game.
