be more of a fanatic LSU fan?

Does it really mean that much, just to be safe so you don't have to hear "I told you so"? I'm a realist and know without a doubt, we are the underdog. If you've been a true LSU fan of many years(me, since 77) we've seen our team upsetting teams that we shouldn't have. We also witnessed many upsets of our beloved Tigers. Regardless, the pain I have felt because I chose not to be a realist, has never come close to the Euphoria felt after a great win. Note: It's not the same feeling when you choose to be a realist and then the upset does happen. At least not for me.

Cheers to all you realist this weekend! I'm not entertaining being a realist till say after 10pm Saturday night. Who knows, I might have a chance not to hear.... I told you so. Spoiler alert...... as fans, we've all heard it before.

Games like this, are the ones that make being a fan worth it.

cheering hard for the Tigers come gametime AND being rational, objective and having perspective are NOT mutually exclusive.

I'm just not able to BS myself in to believing something is true that isn't. It's not a matter of what's important.

I look forward to the day when we don't have to lie to ourselves in order to think we'll beat Alabama. The program will just be good enough to where there are logical reasons to know why we'll win. No spin required.

I have to be realistic, because if I'm not, I set myself up for some dark, dark Sundays.

I have been guilty of placing being "right' over being a true fan meaning believing we can/will win at the risk of being "wrong"

I now chose to focus on the positive. As long as our Tigers comport themselves well and compete til the final whistle, I can live with a loss.

As the saying goes: ' It could happen!

Hopefully the Tigers will have some Angels in the backfield as well as in the trenches!
It is more fun this way, try it!

Some Tiger fans love to hedge their bets so they can’t be wrong. These people have no conviction and no backbone.

No disprect but your chain of thought goes incorrect starting in your title.

Most are not being realist to be right. That is not it at all.

Many fans have been driven to being realists by having their heart shite on multiple times and we simply don't want to be let down again.

And trust me it'll be just as fun If we win.

I think most realize the high probability that we lose. There is also a strong likelihood that we get worn down and a close game turns into a blow out.

I do see signs of hope. Guice, Key, Lawrence and Alexander will be their healthiest they have been all season. Weathersby is getting healthier and it seems we have found our best OL combination.

There is also evidence that Canada's offense is starting to figure it out; however, they haven't faced anything close to Bama's D. Also, Aranda's D is starting to develop.

My biggest concern remains our OL vs Bama's front 7 and if Canada can mitigate Bama's clear advantage. If he can we have a real chance, but that's a big IF. But, I'll be optimistic and primed for a Tiger upset come Saturday night.

I don’t think anyone harbors illusions that we will likely lose Saturday. But I for one am in the camp of those who think we can pull off the upset. I don’t think Bama has really played anyone yet. I don’t think our guys are intimidated by Bama the way the Arkansas and Vandy players were. I think our guys know it will require their A game but they are going there to win. And I believe they can do it, even if I think its not likely. I don’t know what that characterizes me as, a realist optimist I suppose.

I think the “fans” with issues are the ones who have spent the past week - all season actually - ridiculing those of us who think that LSU can pull this off. How can you profess to love a team so much and spend hours on a message board bashing them? Regardless, these are dangerous fans who whirl up negativity about the program. They did it to Miles and now are doing it to O. And they’ll be the first to criticize when we lose an instate recruit to Bama.

Meh...............................I've been watching college football for well over 30 years. I've seen much bigger upsets than if we end up winning this game on Saturday. I don't believe it's likely that we'll win, but considering the talent we have and how the team is coming together, I won't be SURPRISED if we win. I've seen this playout many times in the past.

Let me also say that if we don't win, we still have a chance to have a great season, with a team that was supposed to be a down year.

You do realize you can be a huge Tiger fan and pull like hell for us to win' while at the same time being realistic.

In other words, I pull for the Tigers but am not a blind homer.

Next to nobody ever said that 2017 was going to be a "down year"

The powers that be that made the decision to hire Ed Orgeron said that we wouldn't skip a beat with the hire and Coach o even said himself that we would be in the playoffs this year.

The "down year" talk didn't start up until after the two humiliating losses in September.

All that being said, we all hope that our Tigers can get a huge victory over bama Saturday night.

So you're saying that an organization should be immune from criticism from fans? Does that make any sense at all?

I'd argue that it's precisely BECAUSE we love LSU football that we offer legitimate critique. We want the program to be the best it can be.

Going through life as a blind supporter of anything is very unhealthy. Got to look at everything with clear eyes.

this is one weird statement. were you on a couch when you first said it? at confession?

you can lose even when you "think" you will win and vice versa.
