Yeah. We had to rebuild to our CURRENT standards.
In 1999, we had just gone 0-7 in the SEC. LOL.
I think that I'd rather recruit right after Miles' last year than right after going 0-7 in the SEC after having gone 2-6 in the SEC the prior year.
But hey. Maybe to you, those are co-equal challenges.

Come on man
Even with some sub par years from Miles those years were still a lot better than what preceded the Saban era.
We were still relevant and there was never any question of if we were going bowling.

I mean, can you imagine being a new coach who shows up in the middle of recruiting season to try and salvage a recruiting class coming of an 0-7 SEC campaign?

Dinardo didn't leave Saban with an empty roster. That's a fact. Saban brought in a good first class. Also fact.

Sheesh. Yes. OK. Recruiting at any school is just as easy after an 0-7 and 2-6 SEC season as after Les Miles' final seasons.

2005 was a 13 player class with no o lineman and perilloux wasn’t coming if saban was still coach. That was not a great recruiting year.
