Yeah. Because coaching 11 years apart with no HCing in between is totally the same...…..

But he's the same guy. That shouldn't matter, right?

Well I'm hereby correcting myself a bit on that one. You are right. Miles' 2005 was better-coached than Saban's 2004.

If Saban said frick it, and took the job at Vandy next year, do you think the final result would mean he was the 10th to 14th best coach in the SEC?

That makes no sense. The two years we are comparing were at the same school in back to back seasons with mostly the same players. Saying that Miles did a better job in '05 than Saban did in '04 doesn't mean that Miles is or was a better coach overall. Saban may have had his eye on the NFL and didn't have his usual attention to detail. Could have had personal problems. Who knows.

But again, OVERALL, Les Miles is nowhere near the coach Saban is.

Rob thinks that squad was a better coached team than any team miles had
It was.

It was also not very talented and Randall was...……….well, Randall.

THat can happen in developing programs.

Also, it's nice sleight of hand, but the OP didn't ask "is this the best coached since 2004, it asked if it's the best coached since the Saban ERA...…...which...…..ya know...…….includes more than just 2004

Pretty much no one is. Don't think anyone has ever claimed he was either.

Griff I just checked the tape on the Brady hired thread. You were a bright light in a black hole. My apologies

I just went back and read some of the threads about Brady being hired

A lot of those hateful bastards disappeared when this season started

Well, that's the point then.

So. Now. AGAIN. Since we've established that Saban is a better coach, the only ACTUAL question here is...……..is THIS team better coached than the Miles era?

And, that's too soon to tell

Yikes. Awful take since I’ve never said that once.
