Weed is good for recovery and inflammation. It is medicine. Let them smoke

Its so funny that this thread turned into a weed debate when its all complete speculation. We seriously have zero idea why these guys have been suspended.

The NFL is actually doing studies on its medicinal effects as a substitute for harsher drugs.

If...If there are players suspended for six games, it isn't because of weed, and it isn't because of LSU compliance.

Alabama has a lineman who was suspended for the championship game and five games this year. Six games sound familiar? Bama said it was because of NCAA rules violations.

A tight end for Bama was also suspended for the championship game. He transferred to SMU, where he's sitting out five games, also. Adds up to six game suspension.

I have a friend who is on the SMU staff, and he said the suspension was for drugs, but not for weed.

If...If any of our players are suspended for six games, it isn't for weed, and it has nothing to do with LSU compliance.

I dont believe the suspensions are for weed. Maybe discipline issues. I also can't believe how many people are against weed. It's a natural healing medicine mentally and physically. Its 2019, not the 1950s. If you tried, it would be an upvote. Its healthier than Cialis or Viagra. Come on Louisiana! Get with the times. Football players should be allowed to medicate for body aches, bruises, etc.

I am disturbed by the supposed actions of Divinity, who is supposed to be a team leader! Is he leading others down the path of destruction???

First, I agree it should be legal.

But, weed is illegal, and that's the law. Allowing them to smoke without reprecussion is effectively telling them to ignore the laws/rules with which they do not agree. That's a recipe for disaster.

Isn't weed medicinally legal in Louisiana? I'm sure with all the hits players take on the football field, a few of them would qualify for medicinal. Federal government isn't concerned with weed. Half OZ and under are just a ticket.

Not really. Most, if not all, of these were from off-season occurrences. Coach O has the luxury of choosing which game(s) they’re suspended for if the transgression was a team rules violation and handed down from us instead of the NCAA.

Honestly, I like how coach O handled it. They may have been suspended but they were suited up, cheering and coaching up their teammates during the game. Saw Divinity and others coaching up and cheering during the game.

the comment earlier on the Honey Badger is accurate needing accountability. I remember when my daughter lived in the West Campus Apts across from him. He had lunch outside and left a mess on one of the picnic table. She went out and said you shouldn't leave that and need to clean it up. He said "yes ma'am" and promptly threw all the trash in the garbage". How he handled that tells me his a good person.

The cheeba was a part of his unaccountably. If you want to earn you must follow the rules and a clean life is one of them in the NCAA, NFL and most companies worth working for. Once you walk away from weed; you realize it was just holding you back.

Missing curfew and being late for practice aren’t illegal either. Are you for non-punishment for these as well?

I think weed should be legal as well, but it’s not currently. It’s a violation of team rules. You would think a player could follow team rules.

Why the hostility guy?

I have zero issue with the suspensions. They had a responsibility and an obligation to the team and they failed that. the coaches are holding them accountable to that standard.

I can think that and also think that smoking weed is no big deal and shouldn't be illegal.

I don't like taxes, because I think the government is wasteful. If I dont pay them I will go to jail.I think its bullshite, but I pay my taxes. Vote to change laws(many are dumb),but until then if you break the rules you run the risk of negative consequences.
